  1. True, I was just thinking that some of these Beach Photos that he mentioned in original post, that seemed to be taken higher than 400 feet, could have been taken flying over the tops of some high rise condos possibly.
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as long as you are within 400 feet of a structure, you can go 400 feet above the top of the structure. So if there is a 1000 foot radio tower, you can go 400 feet above the top of the tower? So that would be 1400 feet AGL?
  3. I agree Av8Chuck, I fly the Autel X-Star premium also. So far I have been happy with the performance.I use my X-Star for commercial purposes and it meets all my needs. Although I must admit that I have never flown a DJI or any other system, so I guess I have nothing to compare it to.
  4. As many others in this thread, I am also just getting in the game. I just wanted to share my choice for liability insurance and would like to know if anyone else uses the same. I use the mobile app "Verifly" and you pay by the hour, usually only $10.00 an hour or sometimes $25.00 depending on where you fly. I just wanted to share with everyone, it works good for someone like me who is just getting started and doesn't want to pay a lot for insurance that I might not need often. Check into it!
  5. Thanks Alan, so far I have no complaints about the Autel, It flies great and I haven't had any issues. One thing I like about it is the LCD screen on the controller. If you loose the link with your mobile device you still have all of your crucial flight data right in front of you! And you can't beat the price either. In my opinion it is a very competitive system. This is some footage that I shot with the Autel last week Alan Perlman.
  6. Thank you Steve and thank you Jay for the advice.I guess my next hurdle will be figuring out everything I need on the business liscence side and tax preparation. Any advice on this topic would be much appreciated. I work for the railroad full time and really consider my droning a hobby more than anything, but I really enjoy flying and would love to make some change doing it. I just want to make sure I do everything right. Thanks again for the replies.
  7. Hello, I am trying to get my business off the ground (pun intended) and would appreciate any helpful tips. I would like to do Real Estate, outdoor events, recreational events, etc. I have acquired my FAA part 107 and use Verifly for liability insurance. 8. My first video, flying Autel X-star premium. My editing could definitely use some work. This is in Prattville AL. Select HD for best picture.
