  1. Hydro Magic

"If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water." - Loren Eiseley I cross the 'wrong-way bridge' in Cambridge most days of the week. With a morning mist settled over the Lamoille River, I stopped to grab a few shots from the air. What I didn't realize at the time - perhaps not even until I edited this entry - is that the water would be my subject.

  3. Greetings from Rochester, NY

Hello everyone, Excited to join this community of Drone Pilots and prospective pilots like myself. I am passionate about responsible and legal drone use for commercial use and also for personal enjoyment. I am currently studying for Part 107 exam with the ultimate goal of using my commercial license to establish a successful and respectable business. I'll be monitoring this forum for tips, advice, ideas, etc., and sometimes asking questions -- maybe too many at times. I hope to become a valuable contributor. 4. Hey everyone, my name is Cody. I live in the Chicago area. My drone is a mavic pro. My drone-goals are two pronged. I'm looking for a place to collaborate and learn from as I create a successful aerial imaging solutions company. The other prong is to share and get feedback on the cool shots I capture. My background and passion are in photography, and through photography I've found a love to fly drones. I'll attach a shot from my trip to the Ozarks! Here's my website Can anyone point me in the best direction to learn about experiences with Thumbtack and/or DroneBase missions? -Cody

  7. After having used the Mavic for 9 months, I made a quick video of gear/accessories that I carry (and believe are important) when out filming. A bunch of these should be on sale for a week or two! If you’re free, also check out my cinematic drone tutorials for beginners (71 basic moves, multiple POIs, wedding, etc). Thanks for stopping by!

If you guys could spare a literal minute of your time that'd be perfect. It'd really help me learn about the community a bit more. Thanks and happy flying!

  12. Hi Everyone, DroneDeploy explores the questions people should consider before purchasing a drone for their business. It walks through the benefits/compares multi-rotor vs. fixed wing. There's also a link to a comprehensive 38-page buyer's guide. I hope you find this useful.
  13. Hi all, I tried out the DJI Goggles’ HDMI cable for a quick PC gaming session. It was plug and play with no hassles involved. I apologize for the out of focus video quality. Thanks for giving it a watch! Here are my opinions on it. 1. Unfortunately, the low latency head tracking that works with drones doesn't work when passed through the HDMI cable. 2. The video quality is surprisingly decent (1080p on each eye). 3. My computer easily recognized it as a monitor input, but Star Citizen at times would cap out at 1080p resolution even on my 1440p monitor. So, I would keep the Goggles turned off until I've loaded Crusader. 4. The cable isn't that long. I'm sure other cables could be used for it. 5. The weight isn't bad, and the battery's supposed to last 6 hours.

  20. New Orlando Drone Laws

Planning a trip to Orlando to fly your drone around? Might wanna check out this news story first (link below). I came across this today and I guess the popular Florida city has added some new drone laws and ordinances for UAV pilots. Sounds like perfect timing for them to implement something like this with Spring Break about to start.
