No idea what I am doing...

5 posts in this topic

Hello all,

I am a new Engineering teacher in Indiana and I have been reading articles about schools in Canada that have K-12 drone programs.  I have never thought about a drone club but now I have a couple of students interested in starting one.  Would anyone be willing to share any K-12 curriculum, ideas, or learning objectives that could be taught in a drone club?

Thanks so much!

Welcome to the forum @RoboSnod - I'm sure some in this community will be able to provide some insight. I would also check with your school board about them getting this approved, cost, liability, etc. will be some of their concerns. You'll need a Part 107 remote pilot to fly a drone too.

The Kashmir foundation has a program to help with K-12 drone programs. Here is a link to a week training program for teachers. http://www.kashmirworldfoundation.org/teachTheir focus is on learning by building open source drones which they sell as kits. As far as curriculum details they might have some good ideas on where to start.
