  1. Knowledge test now behind me and application for my Remote Pilot Certificate has been submitted. Next step is meeting North Carolina DOA requirements.
  2. Bert, You were very brave to fly so far over water. I'm not ready for that yet. The color and frame rate looked okay to me. I live in Belmont, NC west of Charlotte, NC. Just been flying in my yard. I have a DJI Phantom 3 Professional. Passed the Airmen's Aeronautical Test for drone pilots this morning so looking forward to getting my Remote PIC Certificate so I can start a commercial business. You have some great videos. Keep up the good work. Jim
  3. Hi Bert, very nice scenery. Were you on the island when you shot the video? I am a newbie here so can't give you any thoughts on technical aspects. Here are some things I would have liked to have seen strictly as someone just viewing the video. Some closer shots of the lighthouses, especially the tops. Maybe shots starting at the base of the lighthouses and rising up to overhead. I would also liked to see fairly closeups of some of the buildings, They looked interesting from a distance and I would have liked to see more of their character. A sequence starting near sea level pointing toward the rocky ccoastline and then rising up to view a lighthouse all the way up to the top to show the light railings, enclosure and lens. Jim
  4. Hi Tony, it's great to find another member near by. What are your plans with your drone? Which drone do you fly? Have you connected with any other drone owners in the Charlotte, NC area?
  5. Hello everyone, I am looking forward to joining with other drone owners who share my interest and passion for flying drones. My FAA test is tomorrow. After passing it and getting a Remote PIC Certificate, my next step is to develop a drone services business. Since I am so new to this, the type(s) of service to offer is still being researched and considered. Being a member of this group will give me a great resource to learn from the experiences of other members. Jim
