  1. Had you changed any parameters with the previous version ?. Normally when upgrading to a later version the parameters are preserved but its always good to make sure. Each time I change a parameter from the default I make a note of it and also will save the list to a file with mission planner. Were you able to bench test the issue that you had with flight modes ? As you may know when bench testing you should remove the props.

  3. From what I understand that's related to a recent service note for the CubePilot flight controller hardware (it was called Pixhawk2.1 but they changed the name to CubePilot). As the CubePilot has redundant sensors there was an issue when a sensor fails and provides incorrect data. Apparently instead of switching to a good sensor it was switching to a bad sensor with obvious consequences. Since this can happen on cubes purchased this year I don't believe you will have the same issue with your controller. At least install it to perform a bench test to see if you original problem of flight modes is still there or not.
  4. @erfan you should be able to simply install the firmware using this procedure. http://ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-loading-firmware-onto-pixhawk.html In summary go to "Initial Setup" in MP and select firmware, this will display a bunch of icons representing the type of craft and underneath the latest stable version. Connect the PC running MP to the flight controller using the USB but do not select "connect" in the upper right corner. Simply click on the appropriate icon and MP will detect the flight controller hardware and install the appropriate firmware. Now this maybe the issue since this is not a true Pixhawk but the HKPilot32 and I am not sure what board type is that is sending back to the MP. Anyway try this procedure and let me know if you get any errors. Also note that if you are asked to "upload Chibios" say yes as this is now the operating system that Ardupilot is using instead of Nuttx.
  5. Any reason for installing this version ?. I am not saying that installing a later version will solve the problem but 3.4.6 was release back in March of 2017.
  6. ok, but on the same line after the Mission Planner version it should also display the version of software running on the flight controller although in order for MP to obtain that information you have to connect it to the flight controller either via the USB or radio link. "Mission Planner build 7054.36589 Arducopter 3.6.8" It seems that this hardware is based on the Pixhawk. Are you running the firmware that was pre-installed on this hardware or did you use Mission Planner to install the firmware ?
  7. You have pretty much the same components as I've used in my builds. 1) Is this the version that is displayed in the top left corner of Mission Planner ?. I would have expected something like Arducopter 3.6.8. Are you using Ardupilot or PX4 firmware ? 2) I am also running that latest version of Mission Planner 3) Is that a 3DR Pixhawk or a clone like the one that I have that's maked "Pixhawk 2.4.8" 4) I have the x9d (not the plus) running OpenTX 2.2.x along with the X8R receiver. 5) Those are the recommended speeds and I've used the same.
  8. Ok, it was worth a try. It would help to know the details of your setup. Version Arducopter firmware ? Version of Mission Planner ? Hardware type of flight controller (i.e Pixhawk etc.) ? Transmitter and receiver hardware ? How is the mission planner connected to the Flight controller hardware (i.e USB, WiFi, Telemetry radio etc) ?

  10. One thing that comes to mind is that logging starts when the copter is armed. You can check if logging is causing an issue with MP telemetry by temporarily disabling it by setting the parameter LOG_BITMASK to 0. You will of course need to save the change in MP and reboot the FC.

  12. Welcome @alessio.zatti@gmail.com to this forum and its great to see someone else that builds drones. I am a big fan of the open source Ardupilot and have build several multi rotors using that software. My current project is a fixed wing drone which I would eventually turn into a VTOL fixed wing.

  17. I am sure that they could be made to fly again but it would be difficult to say what the cost would be. Do you still have the controllers or just the drones ?.

Thanks to the https://www.dronepilotgroundschool.com I passed in the first week that the FAA introduced the certification back in 2016 but since then I have only flown recreational and so haven't found the need to take the recurrent test. Also since I learn't that my FAA part 107 certification never actually expires (unless the FAA revokes it for a good reason) and so I can take the recurrent test if I need to be operational commercially again. (Reuters) - Google parent Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Inc's drone service made its first air delivery in North Canberra, Australia, on Tuesday after getting approval from the country's civil aviation authority. https://wing.com/australia/canberra Interesting design of their VTOL UAV. Looks like it has 12 vertical lift motors and 2 for forward flight. Also the video show that the package delivery is performed by lowering the package by a winch mechanism rather than the UAV landing. Even using a fixed wing design I'm sure that the batteries can't last that long so would really restrict the distance it can fly.
