  1. My video idea was a little different from most of what I have seen on here. I hope you enjoy! I had the opportunity to collaborate with a good friend, James Macias over the last two weeks. In January of 2014, James decided it was time to make a change in his life and set out on a weight loss mission. When James began his journey, he weighed in at 428 pounds. As of today, he is down to 226 pounds. James has run six half marathons, three full marathons, and has run over 1300 miles in the last two years.
  2. I have been wanting to get my demo reel together for a while and my expectations are exceeding my capabilities I think. I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (one hour from New Orleans). I have a few shots from both locations but I don't have the wow factor with any. So, I got discouraged and put everything off. So, I tried to come up with another project to work on. A good friend of mine weighed close to 400 pounds not that long ago. He went on an epic weight loss "adventure" and lost close to 200 pounds. He has since run several full (26.2 Mile) marathons, most recently in Memphis at the St. Jude Children's Hospital where he was able to raise close to 3000.00 by getting people to sponsor him in the marathon. He is looking to start an exercise/motivational group to help others lose weight. He'd like to have a website with video for that page. Yesterday, we took the DJI Mavic (incredible by the way) out for a little test flight and to get some video of him running around. This was the first session that I had with him to get video. He ran through a golf course and I got a couple of shots of him doing so. We plan to get more done this weekend. Just for practice with FCPX, I put a few shots together with music and minimal transitions for his viewing. I'd like to get feedback on what I should have done differently. My future plans for the weekend include a few more running shots in different locations: More profile running shots (Phantom and Mavic) Chasing running shots (Phantom and Mavic) Motion Timelapse of him running bleachers at a high school. (Osmo Plus) Slow motion shot of him working out with battle ropes. I'd like to get possibly a slow motion shot of this, maybe from the ground looking to him, dust flying etc.... Possibly have a GoPro on a chest strap and get a FPV of him running or possibly a quick hyperlapse video with this???? Orbit drone shot of him doing the battle ropes Aerial shot of him flipping Big tires The conclusion shots will be more running on a levee along the Mississippi River with the Mississippi River Bridge Reveal. Another shot or possible conclusion will be running up the Louisiana State Capitol Building steps. This is the tallest capitol building in the U.S. I'm thinking like a Rocky scene... I'd like enough shots to get quick 3-5 second shots and dramatic fading with "epic" music playing. I really want to incorporate some unique transitions. I have FCPX and Premier Pro, along with After Effects. I've seen a lot of videos with this kind of warp speed looking transition ( I cannot think of another way to describe it LOL). I appreciate any and all help that I can get! I was hesitant to ask but I figured I have nothing to lose and some harsh criticism will only serve as motivation. Thanks to all and happy and safe flying!!!!
