  1. I have, I'm currently in contact with UW-Green Bay to see if there would be a way to work with WiSys to try and pull this idea to a more commercialized product. So far it's been slow going, but at this point any direction is a good direction. Thanks for the response!
  2. I think the 360 degree camera would also be incredible for the commercial industry as well! There may be a way to generate low level drone orthoimagery (like Google Imagery) more quickly with a device like that, not to mention possible increased resolution with multiple lenses. Neat video!
  3. I did already post this, sorry about that! An update to the project, we have begun construction of prototype version 3. So far we have done some thrust tests and have successfully generated additional thrust which is exciting! I'm working on customizing the electronics to see if I can increase thrust farther to aid in generating more lift for increased payload capacity. We hope to have a video of the tests within the next few months. We have been exploring alternative designs to this project as well and are working to file a blanket patent for our alternative idea as well. We are also still looking for possible companies of interest to pitch this invention to. We found a few in the local area, but would like to compile a more comprehensive list. We are currently investigating local companies that focus on precision agriculture, but it's difficult to pinpoint exactly who does that since it is such a niche area. Thanks for the comments!
  4. Hello everyone!!!! I have been working with a partner, for the last few months on a device that would allow drone technology to be safer, fly farther, and carry larger payloads. We have just completed a patent search and are building a full scale prototype of our device for testing purposes and as a proof of concept model. If successful, we believe our device has the potential to launch the UAV industry into new found territories, especially within the UAV delivery sector. My partner is the primary inventor and leader of this project and would like for us to sell our patent rights to a company who would have the ability to take our device and commercialize it as an add-on attachment or as part of an existing product line to enhance UAV technology. Our focus mainly lies within UAV delivery services or Agricultural based UAVs. We wish to compile a list of companies who may be interested in our patent rights for this technology. We are looking for companies outside of the well known ones (Amazon, Google, etc.), the “underdogs” if you will. I thought that this would be a great place to start to get input and advice from the community behind this incredible industry! If anyone knows of any contacts or companies that may be interested, please comment or let me know! I would greatly appreciate any advice you have for me!!! -Cody Quote Edit

  7. Another program potentially worth checking out is Agisoft Photoscan Professional. They have a free 30-day license and is cheaper than Pix4D and some other programs. For direct GIS integration, you could use ESRI's Drone2Map extension for ArcGIS.

    Tarot 680 Build

Thanks for the reply, I stumbled across that gimbal in particular, but the price seemed a bit steep to me given there is a significant number of gimbals under $200 or so. Most gimbals that I've found for anything outside of the GoPro Camera seems to have little information about gimbal/camera integration, although I've read it's possible. One gimbal I found online was this one, it seems to be generic with no official name to it and doesn't include the gimbal motors. I measured both the Tarot 680 Pro board and the Iron Man 680 board and they have the same dimensions and appear to have the same hole pattern. -Cody

    Tarot 680 Build

Hello everyone! I am undergoing a new build using the Tarot 680 Pro frame as my base....however I ordered the Tarot Iron Man 680 kit instead of the 680 Pro kit. Does anyone know if I can just swap the center boards/integrated PCB board from the 680 Pro kit with the stock Iron Man 680 kit? That way I don't have to buy a second kit. Secondly, has anyone had experience using a Canon S110 or S120? I'm planning on using this as my imaging sensor. Finally, does anyone know where to find inexpensive gimbals or gimbal kits that will support the size of an S110/120 or any other digital camera for that matter? I greatly appreciate the help in advance!! -Cody
  10. Hey everyone! I've been working on getting acquainted with the new forum. So far I like it! Super easy to navigate. However, I found that I am only able to post on this forum. Is anyone else having similar issues or is it just a restriction/setting on my account that I need to mess with? -Cody
