  1. Have you tried to contact some of your local law enforcement agencies to see if they use drones?

  4. Welcome, I use to use an Ares Ethos FPV. It was difficult to handle in 5-7 knot winds. So I searched the web for good weather sites. I use wunderground, accuweather, weather.com. I purchased an anemometer, and a compass. I use wunderground the most, it gives me the current wind speed of the location I want to fly, if that location is to high, I will search other places, trying to find the spot that is blocked by the wind. If the wind is too high, safety first, I won't fly.
  5. I was flying my Chroma last month, decided to try the RTH, was going good, when suddenly it took a hard left, and crashed. bent the two left props, knocked the camera off. sent it to Horizon Hobby. Got ti back, put it on the GUI, and the camera had a vibration in it, sent it back, they replaced the camera again, and replaced the GPS antenna, Got it back the other day, put it on the GUI, motor #3 has a grinding noise. I recorded it, and e-mailed Horizon Hobby the video. Haven't heard from them yet. Question. What is a good quad copter?
  6. First of all, the FAA can’t make laws – only develop guidelines and regulations. The federal government has no authority whatsoever to regulate the operation of remote-controlled model aircraft. I found this on Pro Video coalition.
  7. I heard from Horizon Hobby the other day, they say " The chroma can come with two different receivers, one for the ST-10 radio and one for the Spektrum radios. So depending on which radio you have that is the plug for the other receiver".
  8. When I go off to capture a sunset or sunrise I use these two sites. Timeanddate.com and SunsetWX.com
  9. I took the cover off to inspect the boards, and found this wire just hanging there. anyone familiar with this?
  10. Thank You, as you can see we ALL had a NICE day flying.
  11. RCDronecamps has a very good tutorial on the Blade Chroma GUI. Several people including myself couldn't get the windows side to work, we used the MAC side on our PC. Basically, you will need to go on horizon. com, click on manuals, click on the chroma 1080p. You will need the RAR extractor ( Free ) to extract the files. Drone Camps explains it a lot better then I. Make sure you put chroma Icon in your tool bar, so you can easily access your chroma for the GUI. There is a new Version 1.2, the old one was 1.1.you will see in the GUI where you can do that. I also always check my ST10+. Tape on sy
  12. Thank You. The software is free. Most high end cameras should have a photo stitch option, like the Canon 35mm.
  13. I have the Blade Chroma 1080p with the ST10+controller. Before each flight, I go on the GUI for the chroma where you can calibrate the camera and accelerometer. You can test the motors. set the Geo-fence and height limits, and view other on board telemetry. I make sure the ST10+ is on, to record what I am doing.
  14. This picture consists of two shots, stitched together horizontally and vertically using the Canon stitch ware. The 1080p camera doses not have the capabilities my canon 35mm doses. So you have to take a lot more pictures trying to over lap them a bit, and line them up,It was even harder with the wind pushing the quad around.

  16. Curious, I wonder how much the average pilot is paying for insurance?
  17. The way I do my photography, be it with my canon, or a quad copter, I burn my photos on a disk, label them, and note them in my photo log book, day/date/year and are filed accordingly in my file cabinet.
