  1. Drones are the perfect combination of my three passions in engineering, photography, and aviation. As a mechanical engineer in college, I built several custom drones for varying applications like photography, FPV racing, and heavy lifting. Three years after graduating with my masters, I am now an aerospace engineer with a growing side business repairing drones. After successfully repairing my own DJI phantom drone, I started fixing drones for others who were frustrated with long repair times and high repair costs. Word spread quickly in the tight knit San Diego drone community of my fast service and excellent customer service. In the span of 2 years, I repaired over 150 drones and expanded into other drone services like flight lessons and consulting. I have been approached by individuals and companies alike with drone business ideas and special jobs. My most notable alliance has been with the local Palomar Community College to offer technical internships for students in the drone program, with the possibility to also teach a course in the future. I owe my success so far to those who have guided me, and supporting education is the least I can do to pay it forward. I attended several local drone events (Drone World Expo, New York Drone Film Festival) and came back from each one inspired, motivated, and with valuable industry connections. As the largest drone conference, I’m looking forward to Interdrone as the best opportunity to stay involved in the industry and help further grow the education and consulting side of my repair business.

  3. I have been flying and building custom drones for over 4 years, with the past year as a Licensed Pat 107 commercial pilot. Located in Wethersfield, I have mainly focused on aerial photography http://hanjohn.com/aerials and drone repairs https://repairadrone.com/, but my team and I are developing a drone swarm with our combined extensive experience in photogrammetry, cloud computing, and drone design. We have presented on a number of occasions about drones and will also be attending Interdrone 2018, hope to see some fellow community members there! Shout out to my friends and family I grew up with in Long Island New York and Los Angeles/Orange County California Thank you
  4. Hello Steve, Always great to see some fellow CT flyers in UAV Community. I have been flying and building custom drones for over 4 years, with the past year as a Licensed Pat 107 commercial pilot. Located in Wethersfield, I have mainly focused on aerial photography http://hanjohn.com/aerials and drone repairs https://repairadrone.com/, but my team and I are developing a custom drone inspection solution with our combined extensive experience in photogrammetry, cloud computing, and drone design. We have presented on a number of occasions about drones and will also be attending Interdrone (the week right before your event on Sept 14). Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions at hj@hanjohn.com Thank you Han John
