  1. Hello @Chase Flynn | UAV Coach, Thank you for your response. It’s great that you asked this question of me, because to be honest- I’ve never actually really put a lot of thought into it. It forces me to look into the multitude of options there are out there as a drone pilot. I think I’d really be open to quite a lot of different business opportunities in the industry. But without putting any thought into it, the first thing that comes to mind is a Photography business, one that isn’t limited to only aerial photography, but incorporates traditional (and not so traditional) photography as well. Something geared toward advertising possibly. I have a cousin who is a Photographer. He actually purchased a drone for a specific photo shoot advertising job. Since his purchase he has been getting a lot more business. He even started getting piloting jobs from people that didn’t even know he was a professional photographer. He now owns an Inspire 2 and a Mavic Pro. In closing, I fantasize of a business that opens doors to many other opportunities. I’d be will to do nearly anything- from agriculture geared use to structural inspection, from artistic photography to mapping and surveying, someday maybe even an piloting instructor. I want to start with photography: music events, weddings and special events, oh gosh... wildlife, nature- but I hope to be pulled in many directions. I hope my answer was too vague, but I truly am open to anything. Thanks again, Phizzgig
  2. Just saying, “Hello all!” So yeah... why I’m here... I was at an outdoor music festival and I saw someone flying a drone. After seeing it fly, I just had to know all about it and I spent a good amount of time talking to the pilot. It turns out he was flying a DJI Spark and gave me the run down. After I returned home I immediately started doing a bit of research on drones and after a day or two of begging, pleading, and justifying, I was able to convince my wife to ‘allow’ me to purchase a DJI Mavic Air with the fly more package(umm... full disclosure: I may have led her to believe that I spent less money on it then I actually did, “what we don’t know, won’t hurt us” and all that). So far I’ve flown it twice, purchased some filters, done some research on photography, watched some videos and subscribed to many youtube channels. Oh man, what have I gotten myself into?!? I can already see that this is going to be a wonderfully exciting hobby. I’m hoping that when I become more adept at flying and skilled at the ins and outs of proper photo and high definition video taking, I may be able to start a little business with piloting a drone. Two flights in and I’m already looking into what will be my next quad- maybe someone can give a brother a little advice on what would be a good addition to my, soon to be, collection of drones? ...also some pros and cons of specific models? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. With that, I’ll quit with my rambling on and end this with, “thank you all for having me in your forum and I’m looking forward to all that this community has to offer.” Fly on... and on... and on.
