  6. Hi Christian I finished the editing class a little while back and really enjoyed it and learned so much. This is my first experience with any NLE. I loved the class. I am submitting my video to be reviewed at your convenience and if you could provide feedback that would be outstanding. We have started a LLC called Head In The Clouds Aerial Photography based out of New Port Richey Florida. I created this reel to show what we can capture throughout Florida for potential customers.You will find some short clips of some of my favorite shots while traveling. The answers to your questions are below and the video is at this youtube link 1. I used Final Cut Pro 2. The resolution is 1920x1080p 60fps 3. I am doing this course to improve my editing skills to better serve clients. 4. I choose something with more hits to the music to really pronounce the clip changes. 5. I wanted the feel to be wow I want to go check out Florida. 6. The story I am trying to tell is there is beauty everywhere you look and from above its brought to the forefront. 7. The three most important things I learned was how to share the video, correctly using transitions, adding and editing music. Once again thanks for this class.   8. Dji Inspire 1 for Sale. Aircraft and Remote are in new condition. The Battery in the Remote was just replaced by Dji because it was never used and the battery died.Comes with Aircraft, Camera, Case, One battery, Remote, Charger and Props.Camera was only used a few times.I am selling it because this was my backup to my other inspire 1. I have since gotten the inspire 2 and no longer need the backup.

In this particular episode the host travels to San Diego and interviews a drone pilot from there.   12. hello everyone. i am facing a strange problem with hubsan x4 107C+ the x4 when fully charged is not lighting up with blue/red light when the x4 button is press. It just worked 2-3 time well...sometime when the battery put back and forth it woked but again not working at all now. When it is connected with usb cable...with or without battery i get red light... no other spare battery to check ? no crash done so far.... please anyone with good tips ...? battery dud ? Thanks!   14. Hi I am new to this forum and just checking out how things work around here. Seems very informative, and I think I will really enjoy it. I have been droning for over a year now but recently just got a DJI Mavic and feel like I have entered a whole new world of drones. Everything about this little drone is amazing!   17. In this tutorial, I am going to explain step by step how to built a 250 Quadcopter Drone. I had already built the drone when I decided to make this tutorial, so all the soldering and some construction is already made, but I will try to explain how to do it. Now, I could do a presentation of what a drone is, how many types of drones there are, etc...but, if you have arrived here you know how to use Google ;). My model is based on the Hobby King Color 250 chassis, is not too big, but neither too small. It is my first drone, I decided to built it by myself instead of buying one because I find it cheaper and more entertaining. I hope that this tutorial can help you built one yourself, and spread the hobby of drones even more. Well, lets get to it: Step 1: Materials I am going to list all the materials I needed when I built my drone, and I will try to link them to a place where you can buy it, or something similar that will get the same work done. Chassis: H-King Color 250(x1) Motors: 4 individual motors http://www.kynix.com/Product/Cate/757.html ESC:HobbyKing 10A ESC 1A UBEC (x4) Flight controller:AfroFlight Naze32 Rev6(x1) Propellers: Any type of 5030 will do (included with chassis, however I recommend buying more because they break easily) Batteries: I recommend around 1500mAh and 40C, anything bigger will be too heavy and smaller will be to little power. ZIPPY COMPACT 1500mAh 3S 40C(x1) or (as many as you want), so you can fly as many as you like. RC emitter & receiver:Quanum i8 8ch 2,4GHz(x1) FPV Camera: If you buy it in Spain I recommend: Mini camera 600TVL con Filtro. If you are from elsewhere, this one is the most similar: Mini CMOS 600TVL FPV Camera.(x1) FPV emitter: If you buy it in Spain I recommend: Mini transmisor de video 32CH 200mW . If you are from elsewhere: SkyZone TS5823 32CH 200mW.(x1) Screen or googles: Screen: 7 inch monitor with receiver included. Googles:Quanum DIY FPV Google V2 Pro. (x1) Some cables. Connectors: Watch out for the connectors of your battery, it can be XT-60, that is the one I use, or other. Soldering tin. Bolts/Screws. (some come with the chassis, others don't). Battery alarm: optional, but can be handy to know when the batteries are dried out. Step 2: SAFETY Drones are not toys. You have to be very careful when building or flying them. Here are some safety tips I recommend you follow: Building the drone: Soldering can be dangerous, be very careful. Wires transmit heat, so consider having some tweezers or forceps to hold them and not burn your fingers. Once you have everything in place, you might want to put on the battery to see if it works, but please, NEVER EVER put the propellers on while in the working bench, because you never know when will the motors will be armed the first time you connect the battery, and it could hurt you really, really bad. Flying the drone: Fly in open spaces, where if something goes wrong, the only thing that suffers is the drone. It is better if only your drone is destroyed in a crash than if apart from your drone, you break someone's windshield, or window. The first time you fly it, try having the drone always in sight, even if you have FPV goggles. Take your time to learn how to control the drone. Every time you fly, make sure your propellers do not touch any wire when rotating, or they could cut them and something will go wrong. Batteries: Li-Po batteries can explode, corrode and provoke dangerous fires. Use only Li-Po certified chargers and try to buy them from somewhere reliable. These are my safety tips, I recommend you follow them or create your own safety procedures to ensure you can enjoy your drone the best way possible. Step 3: Assemble the base. So, you have now everything you need to start building your drone. First, you have to assemble the chassis, but not entirely, only the bottom so you can add the flight controller and other things later. The one I have used, the 250 Color, is very easy to assemble, just 4 black cylinders that you have to place in their respective places and put the bolt from under the base. Other models may have other ways of assembly, but I think most of them will be quite easy. Step 4: Time to solder Now you have to solder the pins on the flight controller. I have used a Naze32 rev6. This model has 3 groups of pins you need to solder. Groups number 1 and 3 are easy, however, for group number 2, I recommend you buy extra pins that have a 90º corner so you can pass the wires under the flight controller. This way, you gain some order with the wires, once everything is connected. Then, the ESCs, is is very easy. Red on +, black on -. Do not change the polarity, because it will damage the ESCs. Now, the battery connector, these wires are big, so put a lot of tin and solder where it puts Vin 14,8V Max, once again the red on the +, and the black on the-. You have to solder the FPV gear also, I have made a quick diagram that can be useful for most of the cameras and receivers. For the motors, some come with bananas easy to connect, for others, you will need to solder them to the ESC as shown on the diagram. Look out for the changes in the wires of the motors, two of them rotate Clock-Wise (CW) and the other Counter-Clock-Wise(CCW). Do not forget to put some tape, or Heat Shrink Tubing so that the things you have soldered do not touch each other. Step 5: Connections and more connections. Once everything is well soldered, time to connect all the things. I have made some diagrams that may help you will help you connect everything. Make sure connect correctly the motors in their respective numbers in the Naze32. Each receiver is different, but most of them connect the same. Make sure the FPV camera is fastened somehow, or it will jump all around when you fly the machine. Step 6: Check and double check Once everything is connected, take your time to make sure everything is right, no loose wires, no metals touching each other, etc... I have included close photos of my motors so you can see the soldered wires and the numbers. Step 7: Finish the assembly You are nearly finished, just finish the assembly of the chassis and you are nearly good to go. One quick tip, try putting the receiver antenna connection in the hole the chassis has, so you can have a quick way to put and remove the antenna. REMEMBER, do not put the propellers, the photo you see with the propellers is because the drone has NO BATTERY, therefore it cannot be armed accidentally. You may need some velcro straps to fix the battery and a camera for recording in flight. Step 8: Software and Calibrations. Show All Items There are many softwares that can be used to program a flight controller like the Naze32, and others. I have used Cleanflight, for no reason in particular. Follow step by step the instructions I have made with the images, and I think you will find no problem in instilling a firmware on your flight controller. Unfortunately, I cannot advise you too much on this subject, because I am a rookie in these type of software. You can copy my settings, and then calibrate your drone according to your experiences while flying. For as much as I know, the Naze32 has 3 modes of flying: Angle, Horizon andAcro. In Angle mode, the drone will balance itself and it will NOT let you tilt it more than a certain degree, I think is 70º o around that number. It is great to learn how to control the drone, but, you cannot do loopings or flips in this mode. In Acro mode, you are free. The drone will NOT balance itself, so if you tilt it too much, it will fall if you do not recover a stable position. This mode is for doing crazy tricks, but I recommend you to be patient and first of all gain control of your drone. Lastly, Horizon mode is a mix between the two others. It will balance itself, but you have certain freedom do to flips and rolls, because you are allowed to tilt it as much as you can. I think this is the best mode to fly in the everyday use. You can do some cool tricks, and have your back covered if you loose control, just let the commands free and the drone will balance itself. (only, do not cut throttle to the minimum, just leave Yaw, Pitch and Roll free). Getting the drone to do exactly want you want is tricky, so be patient and enjoy the learning. Step 9: Propellers and final check. So, you have now a fully operational 250 Quadcopter Drone, by the way, do you know what does the 250 mean? It is the distance in millimeters between two motors that rotate in the same direction, for example, motors 1 and 4. Anyways, next thing to do is place the propellers. You have to take into consideration that the propellers are not all the same, there are CW propellers and CCW propellers. CW propellers usually are labeled with an R after the number 5030. So, take two 5030R and two 5030 propellers, put the ones with the R on the CW motors, and the ones with no R in the CCW. REMEMBER not to arm your drone until it is safe to fly. Now you are ready to go!! Go to an open area, prepare all your equipment. Before turning everything on, take some time to be sure the propellers do not collide with anything and the battery and cameras are well fastened. Then,once everything is on, first the RC emitter, then goggles or screen and lastly the drone itself, you are free to arm the drone and fly!! Step 10: Lift Off!! You are now capable of flying your drone! Remember, be safe and have fun!! Thanks for reading this tutorial and I hope it was useful for you

Hi everyone, New forum user I've been registering in the different Drone forums myself in search for a Checklist App that I could use on my phone instead of printing out paper card for every flight and finally found this App. It seems to be on the Google Play Store only at the moment, no IOS version I could find. Figured I'll share it as my first post Drone Companion - Android Apps on Google Play The interface is pretty slick and intuitive. It also contains decent tips. Most of the them, I've seen them in one form or another on the various drone forum, but it's a good collection in one place. Pretty good to have, when all steps are done, interface update to a "Safe to Fly" and you're good to go Makes you feel like a real pilot doing it's fighter jet checklist (kinda... if you have a lot of imagination ) Enjoy

Located at the Volcani Center campus in Bet-Dagan, near Tel-Aviv, Agricultural Research Organization (ARO) six institutes are responsible for Plant Sciences, Animal Science, Plant Protection, Soil, Water and Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, and Postharvest and Food Sciences. ARO also operates four research stations, in various parts of the country, and serves as a testing center for agricultural produce and equipment. Israel's Gene Bank For Agricultural Crops is also located on the ARO Volcani Center campus. While encompassing the full range of agricultural research activities, ARO focuses in particular on arid zone agriculture, enabling Israel - a country short of all the resources required for agriculture - to achieve among the highest levels of agricultural output in the world. As an agricultural research center of international standing, ARO each year attracts a large number of groups from abroad, as well as numerous individual visitors. These include academics, heads of experimental stations, representatives of private companies and public officials. ARO maintains particularly close relations with the various international, regional and national institutes involved in the promotion of good agricultural practice and in the increase of agricultural output, and in particular with the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). At Alpha Unmanned Systems we have always believed that our UAV, the SNIPER, could be useful in improving agriculture. From the Volcani Institute they have proven us correct and by buying two of our drone helicopters they have placed themself at the forefront of agricultural innovation. Equipped with a Flir SC-655 infrared camera plus an on-board processing computer, with a 2 hours autonomous flight and a 2.5 Kg payload; both SNIPER units will support the ARO in their precision agriculture researches, with main topics such as hydric stress, diseases detection or soil nutrients optimization. Also we want to emphasize that we will be pioneers in achieving certification for civilian use of unmanned helicopter. Once delivered, corrected and accepted by the Israeli authority all communication systems and manuals, Alpha gave a training program in Spain, Madrid for two pilots of the ARO and two pilots recognized by the Israel Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) so they can mentor new pilots in their homeland. After making the handover protocol we travelled to Israel, Tel-Aviv to finish the ATP with our client and perform the first flight tests required to achieve certification by the ICAA. The flights were realized at Tel-Gezer which is a well known area due to it's natural park and past history. All both ATP & ICAA requirements were carried out succesfully.
  24. The radio link range is one of the most important aspects in a UAV. How far can we go with a good radio link? What affects this distance? How to increase the link range? are usual questions that concerns to UAV developers and manufacturers. Well this are the main factors that will have influence while achieving the maximum possible distance: - Bandwidth: the rate of data transfer, bit rate or throughput, measured in bits per second (bit/s). - Transmitter power: is the actual amount of power (in watts) of radio frequency (RF) energy that a transmitter produces at its output. - Antenna gain: an antenna's power gain or simply gain is a key performance number which combines the antenna's directivity and electrical efficiency. Normally the higher the gain, the narrowest radiation patter, f.e. a omny antenna has typically 3 to 5 dBis while a patch antenna can have 9 to 18 dBi but the patch antenna like the used in the G-TRACK must be always aiming to the UAV to have good link quality. - Losses: connectors and cables reduces the final output power of the system as it has looses. - Receiver sensitivity: Is the minimum magnitud of input signal required for a good performance of the device. - Fade Margin: Is the minimum margin necessary to ensure a good communication link measured in dBi a desired fade margin is 20 dB. - Path Loss: The losses produced by the attenuation of the signal caused by the distance between the two radios. - System Gain: Final system transmiting power taking into consideration all the installation; is the sume of the following: Transmitter Power + (Transmitter Antenna Gain - Transmitter Cable and Connector Losses) + (Receiver Antenna Gain - Receiver Cable and Connector Losses) + | Receiver Sensitivity | The following example shows an estimation fo the distance that you can achieve using the PCM data link with both ground and air omny antennas: Tx power = 30dBm (equivalent to 1W) Tx antenna gain = 6dBi Tx cable/connector loss = 2dB (typical value for one meter coax cable) Rx antenna gain = 3dBi Rx cable/connector loss = 2dB Rx sensitivity = -108dBm System Gain = [30+(6-2)+(3-2)+108]dB = [30+4+1+108]dB = 143dB. Under this situation we can have maximum path loss of (System gain - Fade Margin) 143 - 20 = 123 dB that in the frequency of 2.4 Ghz is equivalent to 15 Km.   25. You just acquired the Alpha Unmanned Systems Power Board (PB) to make your piston engine UAV more reliable thanks to the back up battery while reducing or eliminating the battery care task. But now, which brushless generator should you choose for your UAV? Wich are the right RPMs to achieve the voltage I need? If you made yourself this questions continue reading this article. First of all, we have good news for you, all electric engines can act as motors or as generators, this means that if you apply electric energy to the engine it will give you work, but if you apply work it will give you electricity! This means that any drone electric engine can be used as a generator thats why they can be found at very affordable prices. But let's focus on what's important. In brushless engines there is a constant that will give us the clue to calculate all the necessary parameters to integrate the Power Board (PB) in the UAV. This constant is the Kv, motor velocity constant or the back Electro Magnetic Force (EMF) constant, this value tells us the number of RPMs that will be achieved when applying a certain voltage and is a data that all the manufacturers will provide. Then, having this value and knowing that we need a minimum of 19 input volts to charge the backup battery and that the maximum allowable input voltaje is 30 volts, a nice voltage value to work with would be lets say 24 volts, now assuming that the typical rpms of the propeller of a Fixed Wing SUAS are 9000 rpms we have all the necessary data to define our brushless engine. RPMs = Kv X Voltaje 9000 = Kv X 24 --> Necessary Kv constant is: 375 But what happens if, for example, we can only find a 475 Kv engine, then we would need to increase the rpms of the brushless generator to achieve the same voltage, in that case we can use the transmission between the propeller shaft and the generator to increase the rpms as follows: Necessary rpms are: Kv X Voltaje --> 475 x 24 = 11400 Gears/Pulleys relationship must be: 11400/9000 = 1.26 this means that the generator gear or pulley must have 1.26 times the number of tooths of the one installed on the propeller shaft, f.e. 15 one and 12 the other (12 X 1.26 = 15.12). Now you have all necessary information to integrate your generator and Power Board on your UAV!
