Thought I would share one of my four cameras I had recording the Great American Solar Eclipse of 2017. This was taken in southern Illinois over the Lake of Egypt near Marion. You will notice a distant (6.5 mile away) unpaved airports runway lights automatically turn on as the moon blocks the sun, before they turn back off (upper left corner). The colors were so surreal that color correcting seemed a bit off even though I remember the way it really looked. You can see the shadow approaching from the bottom right of the screen, and after the moon passes you will see the shadow come back in t

My first experience with Typhoon Q500 G (GoPro version) on a mountain bike using wizard in watch me mode. Using iPhone app with phone mounted on handle bars. Included some of the things that are typically not good with the G model and the more editing that tends to be required. It has sample footage showing some of the issues. You can use the iPhone app to turn on/off the GoPro just before take off/landing, but the range is shorter than using the ST10+ remote. You can't turn the GoPro camera using the ST10+ but you can get a greater distance from the video link. Also using the ST10+ on a

I have a quick question on the technical definition of sunset - the course links off to an almanac but I was hoping it would be simpler - i.e. as soon as the lowest point of the sun hits the horizon that's sunset and it's evening civil twilight for 30 minutes (and the reverse for morning). And if you google it and get a time, do you know if that's the same time as used by FAA? Thanks! Brian P.S. - great course BTW, learning a lot and it's easy to get through.

I'm getting more comfortable with the controls of the P3S and this weekend I decided to go to the beach in the evening to try out some additional capabilities, like the automated orbiting using the Point-of-Interest (POI) features. I also tried to do more of a planned shoot to try to create content that would allow me to edit and produce a very simple storyline and dynamic video. Check it out, it's one of my favorite videos so far:

I took this last night. We have had some pretty nice sunsets the past few days. In order to get rid of the props in the field of view, I mounted the gopro under the lower deck of the F450. Because my landing gear is short, I resort to "catch and release" method of ending and launching. When the guy in the piper cub bused the top of the mountain, my drone was 10 feet off the ground, just above me. Editing was done with gopro studio.
