About Me

  1. I have been working with UAV design. For this, I have been looking for design aspects of Penguin UAV which is built by UAVfactory. Mainly, I have been looking for wing profile, airfoil used and all. Can anyone help me?
  2. Hi, I have a school research project where I have to build a business intelligence report where I have to offer a new tech to help a business. Basically I need help finding a specific drone model that can hypothetically be used for “food delivery” to hypothetically help a business like door dash or something. (Unless anyone has a better idea) Anyone know any specific drone models that have UAV capabilities, has a carry weight of about 5lb, and basically is researchable. I need to find info regarding “architecture and mobility, design, standards, markets and regulations” so basically it ha
  3. hey guys Pat from Australia here. Just signed up. Been flying for a year with a Mavic 2 Pro. Love every single flight. I posted a video in this forum for my frist post to if you guys would like to check out. Hope to engage with other drone flyers here and learn
  4. During some tests that we carried out autonomously of the mRo navigation systems, while we flew, the wind began to blow very hard and we decided to suspend the mission and land manually because the wind was increasing more and more and the gusts were erratic and unexpected. To end the day, during the final approach the pilot made some low passes to be able to take some pictures of the plane from very close. Once the photos we achieved and we saw the circumstances complicated by the wind and the difficult landing, as fun we challenge the pilot to land with aim. Due to the strong wind
  5. I have several 12-bit raw images acquired with Survey3 MAPIR spectral camera. There is a MAPIR Camera Control (MCC) software for make the images batch convertion to GeoTIFF format, but doesn't work very well. Does anybody know how I could do this convertion in batch with preservation of geocoding associated, with ANACONDA, QGIS or something else?
  6. I am new to this group and have a question for anyone knowledgable about how drones use elevation data in their flights. Is it loaded into the software onboard the UAV? What data is currently available and used. And would very specific elevation data of the ground surface area along with obstacles present be of any value in that process? Here is what I am talking about .It is a collaboration between Lufthansa and Intermap Technologies in creating a global database for Drone/ UAV usage called NextView. The data specifications are listed at the bottom... https://www.intermap.com/aviation-s

  8. Hey Everybody, I see there a lot of new drone pilots joining the community, one of my earliest struggles in the industry was actually buying a drone! I made a video and wrote an article about a couple of things you need to consider before buying your first prosumer drone. Below is the video and here is the article: https://dronexcaptain.com/2018/11/26/so-you-want-to-buy-a-drone-things-to-consider-first/ If you find any of this information of any value please let me know in the forum comment section. Also, UAV Coach has a great and in-depth guide for professional drone mode

  10. The ALTI team had an endurance flight with a standard Transition unmanned aircraft and achieved an endurance flight time of 10 hours, 43 minutes and 43 seconds. Various minor updates and improvements have been made to the ALTI Transition over the last few months and all these small changes have a BIG result, endurance. Based on calculations and previous flights, expected endurance was around 8 hours, compared with pre-production endurance tests of just over 6 hours in real world conditions. Breaking their very own expectations by nearly 3 hours on a standard, non-modified ALTI Transit

  13. Good Afternoon Everyone, I recently launch a digital marketing agency that focuses solely on the golfing industry. One of the services I offer is hole-by-hole guided tours. I'm looking for an individual/team that lives in South Florida (Atlantic side of the state) to do contract work as part of my team. I posted this job on droners.io and was overwhelmed with the responses from all over the country. I unfortunately was not specific about the location of the individual/team, so I'm hoping to make that clear here, I just want Florida based licensed UAV/Drone operators. I really appre
  14. Hello everyone! I'm Muhammad Waqas, student of Mechatronics Engineering from Islamabad, Pakistan. We're doing a project on UAVs and we need to make a flight controller board. So my question is pretty simple, can Raspberry Pi be used as a Flight Controller? How complex it is to code a flight controller? And is there an easy method to develop a flight controller of our own?
  15. Checkout this testcase for live video streaming from a UAV: http://uav200.com/experience/#ansur-nexus-II-aviator-uav200 Using ASMIRA from raidosystem.com the UAV can be flown with visual transmission even with very low bandwidth. A preview of the video takes can be delivered in real time concurrently to the "normal" live camera view for the pilot, thus you can see the footage while the bird is still airborne.
  16. Dear All, If you are worry about the UAV video transmission part, please contact me any time. Support: HD1080P image RS485 control signal 0ms delay 100KM flight distance live video
  17. UAVs or as many know and call them, “drones”, have become quite popular in the last couple of years and it seems that, nowadays, everyone has them. This is mostly because the market is over flooded with a plethora of cheap models, and you can buy a drone to have fun with in the back yard for less than $20. Of course, if you want a more sophisticated model that goes over 60mph, or has a 4K camera and basically, does the flying on its own, you will have to cash out from $400 and up. Is there a solution that offers all those great features, but for less money? Yes, there is and it’s called a
  18. Hello, I just discovered the Matrice 100 and there are some questions I’d like to ask: As far as I know, the Matrice 100 has additional expansion bays which allows me to add my own components and computing boards/microcontroller board. I want to add my own WIFI module, Depth Camera, Infrared Camera…etc. These components are to link with the microcontroller board while the board communicates with the Matrice 100. I’d like to ask: 1. Will the Matrice 100 be able to satisfy my needs? 2. If it can, what microcontroller board/ can meet my needs? Where can I buy it or d

  20. I've been searching for an answer to the question of operating AT a class g public airport. I see a lot of info on flying nearby, but nothing on actually operating at one. I don't seem to see any restrictions from part 107, but does anyone have any practical experience or knowledge on this subject?
  21. Hello folks, Can anybody suggest me what can be the type of antenna to be placed on the belly of a UAV for 2.4GHz and it should support tracking for longer distance in the sense gain shud be more than 5dBi.. Waiting for the response.. Thanks in advance
  22. Hello all, Greetings from the Mid Atlantic, glad to be here. Just a quick introduction for everyone; I grew up around Army aviation and when I was born my crib overlooked the flight line at Schofield and I have been hooked on aviation ever since. Ive always had a passion for flight. When I was a late teen I completed my private pilot ground school but was never able to fund my flight hours. That is something I hope to finish. Regardless, I've been building & flying line of site UAS vehicles for about 5 years now, mostly fixed wing, I have been an amateur photographer for a long
