Hi All, Wanted to get the communities take on this. I have FAA approval for a flight near 3 hospitals. Max - per my approval - is 150ft AGL. I thought I'd reach out and give a courtesy call to the hospitals to let them know when and where I'd be flying. Two of the hospitals were as pleasant as could be. The third more or less said "no" at this time - but would get back to me - (they wanted a week lead time of a heads up so they could communicate and coordinate it and decide on approving or not). The hospital is about 1/3 to 1/2 mile from the drone launch site and where I will mostly be flying. I would be flying for a 3rd party client. Would you still do the flight without a thumbs up from the 3rd hospital (assuming you got the go ahead from your client)? -Adam
Not to long ago I received my first airspace authorization after about 2 months. When I applied I submitted to applications, one for airspace authorization in Class D Airspace with 90 days out, as I had a flexible client.. And another for a job that I would lose unless I could get the authorization within 30 days. The one I submitted for 30 days was denied based on the timeframe. The one I submitted for 90 days was approve. I'm curious the way you guys are approaching requesting authorizations that you need before the 90 days. Can I assume that any request with a start date within 90 days will be denied? I have shoots that I need to get done asap, but I'm worried If I fill out the application with a start date sooner than 90 days it will get denied. Has anyone been approved for authorizations with start dates sooner than 90 days out? If so, how did you determine your start date? Any advice on submitting applications for authorizations for projects that are flexible on exact dates but generally time sensitive (the sooner scheduled the better) would be great.
