  1. Hello everyone. My name is Peter J. Sabo. I live in Oklahoma City, OK. I've been interested in aviation and flying for too many years. I would like to learn more about this amazing and, semi-new venture of drones and the commercial end of it. I know there is a website called: Drone Pilot Ground School. I have investigated this program and it looks like it'll be up my area of interest. I know there are a wide range of UAS/drones available. I'm thinking of starting small and gradually graduating to a more advance set up. I look forward to becoming a commercial UAS/Drone pilot. I would probably start working for someone and then form my own company.
  2. Hi all,Just bought a drone? Already a professional? A drone enthusiast? Regardless, your help is needed!I am looking for drone/RPAS/UAV pilots and enthusiasts to be a part of research I am undertaking into drone flying practices in the UK.What are the aims of the project? I’m exploring what kind of airspace is produced by the interactions between regulation on the one hand and the actual experience of drone flying on the other. What do we know about the invisible politics of airspace? How important is the drone user in shaping their own flying experience? Don’t worry about answering that of course… that’s my job!How could you contribute?I’m looking for two types of contributions, both of which would be completely anonymous in the final research: Flight diary – regardless of how long you’ve been flying drones, I’m looking for pilots (beginner, hobbyist, professional, whatever!) to record a diary of the experience of just a few drone flights over the next 2 months - I'd give plenty of pointers as to the kind of things to talk about, and time commitment is all up to you. This might then be followed up by an interview if you’d be willing. Interview – if you work in the industry, this would be a short (informal) interview discussing your own drone flying habits and interests, along with the wider sentiment of the industry/your company. I am based in London, though you would not be expected to travel – please do get in contact wherever you are as I would love to hear from you.If you are interested or would like further information, please get in contact with me via PM or by email – droneflightresearch@gmail.comThank you for your time!HarryGeography undergraduate student at Oxford with a keen interest in the aviation industry, currently undertaking research for my dissertation.

I am hoping this forum will guide me proper drone operations and any test examination I need to prepare for.
  4. Hello everyone. My name is Aubrey and I've been flying as a registered learner for over a year. Mainly in cheap drones so that I can fly without getting overly concerned about losing one I started with the smaller variety and have gradually moved upward in size. Last year was going to take a step up to a GPS enabled drone but the reseller kept my money and didn't provide the product, so I had to keep with what I had. My goal is to gradually get better and save up to have a more professional platform that can follow path and video the progress. I read up constantly on several drone boards and email publications. Looking forward to advancing my knowledge and skills. Aubrey
  5. I currently work as an independent contractor/consultant in an unrelated area providing statistical programming and analysis services for Pharmaceutical Clinical trials data. I am the definition of an absolute beginner and have no experience flying UAVs. I would like to become a UAV pilot and the goal is to start a side hustle. Where do I begin? What are some good resources for me to read up as a beginner? Do we have a FAQ on this forum that would cover a newbie like me? Thanks.
  6. Hi guys,I am building my first racing drone. I thought it would be easy as it's not the first radio controlled thing I've built (electric longboard) but apparently a drone is a whole different story I finished the frame as far as I could without obstructing the electronics, but I simply don't know how to connect everything together. Although I already checked with multiple Tutorials and other resources I came to no definite conclusion, so here I am Here's 2 images of all the parts I have, do. you know how to put them together? Image 1: Image 2: It may be that the pictures contain some unnecessary parts, they're simply leftoversThank you,Drizzel
  7. Hi UAV Coach community! I'm really glad to join you Recently I've got my first drone (DJI Inspire 2), before I dealt only with ordinary landscape photography and processed them with Luminar photo editor. With aerial photography I keep doing the same, but maybe there are some special tools novices should know about? Plugins, stand alone apps, etc.
  8. Hi, My name is Bob, I'm from the UK and have been looking at the Drone industry for a while and I am interestedf from a work and pleasure perspective. 1. Work. - My job involves surveying propery of all natures, buildings Civil engineering projects etc., and a lot of the time they are high rise and there are areas of projects not easily accessable. So a drone would make a very useful tool to my tool kit where I can access and visually inspect areas much easier than otherwise would be the case. So thats the work element in brief. 2. Pleasure - It appears obvious to me that one can gain a lot of pleasure and interest out of flying a drone in whatever capacity one chooses. Obviousely to be done in the right way, i.e. observation of all safety rules and regulations etc., So, I have not purchased a drone as yet and have no experience of flying one. I with any subject prefer to spend some time stuying it and once feeling comfortable with it Jump in. If anone can offer words of advice i would be appreciateive of any pointers. Thanks and regards to everyone. Bob.
  9. Merry Christmas to everyone! Here's our Christmas Eve celebration filled with food, gifts, Bingo, karaoke and family! It's 1:58 minutes long (or short) and I just wanted to share it with you. I submitted this video to the "Share your country’s Christmas spirit with your DJI device" contest. A like and/or comment there would be very appreciated there! Here's the link: https://forum.dji.com/thread-125932-1-1.html
  10. Hello, I am new to the drone world and would love to build my own for some aerial photography. I have experience with flying as I own a smaller quad but I am looking for something bigger and a little project for the winter. I am trying to figure out how I could (if at all possible) have a single transmitter for the quadcopter and the gimbal. I am leaning towards buying an S500 kit or F450 kit and I'm not sure which yet. Any guidance is much appreciated! Thank you! Robert
  11. I just did a quick beginner wedding drone tutorial. It’s got 22 moves with controls used and a few tips as well. I hope you find it useful!
  12. Hello fellow flyers! Just sharing a short video of our home, all shot by drone. Thanks for watching!
  13. Hey all,I made a tutorial/how-to video of 55 aerial cinematic movements/techniques complete with controls and some tips. I hope this can help new and intermediate drone flyers focus on the creative after learning a bit of the technical side from the 55 clips. It was my 7th day flying a drone (5 of the 7 for this video) and 2nd run with Premiere Pro so feedback is highly appreciated.Which ones are your favourites? Which ones do you currently use most frequently? Any moves not on this video that you would like to share? Feel free to pause the video any time. Category timestamps are on Youtube for quicker scrubbing. Thanks!!
  14. I'm a research hound, yep I admit it. Which means when I get a recommendation or some product interest me I'll spend a few weeks reading all reviews and articles I can find. Alan, in his article of 17 drones for Beginners (http://uavcoach.com/cheap-drones-for-beginners/ ), recommends the UDI818A-1 top of the list. Bought one for a friend, early Christmas present, and WOW!. Got it also from Force1 via Amazon for a steal. Has everything needed to learn to fly. And lets clarify something here. If you've never opened a book on flight characteristics, PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING!!! Get the basics, learn and quiz yourself, go to the local R/C shop and talk to seasoned pilots (they love to share!!). 'Drones' fly different than other aircraft so having basic knowledge is critical to safety and enjoyment. The UDI818A-1, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KYLA1KI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, is a great beginner drone because it defaults to the slow speed setting, instruction book is spot on with great cautions and how too's, flew nicely INDOORS (first!!) and has more great features than one's 2x their price. And since it weighs .35lb, no registration is required! Yes, not good in a 5+mph wind, but if you are beginning, outdoors isn't where you should start! Use the altitude hold and keep it under 10ft until you are really good at not hitting the walls and takeoff/landing (auto functions here are great!). I'm buying one for me on Alan's and my recommendation about this product. I'm not the fasted typist and will answer any question about my experience with this drone but be patient as I don't get on this machine till the evening, lol.
  15. Hi All, I would like to know if any one has had a look at the newer Syma X5HW drone. I am very interested in acquiring one as a way to start my practice with fpv. I was flying a Skywalker 1306 ( I think) in a rolling cage until I burnt out one of the motors trying to fly it in the wind. Not worth repairing it in Cape Town, RSA I have about 10 hours of flying time on that, which of course was 8 minutes flying and 1.5 hours charging at a time. They are reasonably priced in South Africa, relatively speaking, and just want some opinions on them. My aim is to eventually get a Blade Chroma 4K or something similar to that with a much longer range, as I want to use it for a bit of wildlife videography/photography. Cheers, Justin
