About Me

  1. Hi everyone! I am an architecture graduate currently working in Construction management. I passed the written exam for my FAA Remote Pilot License and am really dedicated to breaking into the drone industry as a career. My goal is to become a photographer/videographer with my Mavic 2 Pro. I'm naturally interested in providing services for architecture firms or construction companies given my education and occupation background but, I am very interested in getting into Real Estate and Inspections also. I've done research to find the proper training and programs needed for mapping/3D modelings such as Pix4D and Drone Deploy, however, I soon found some of these services will require a Surveyor's license or license Surveyor to sign off. I am now confused, I see many drone operators providing these mapping and 3d model services but, am not sure if these they are licensed, surveyor. Am I missing something here? Can someone please clarify this for me? I want to provide my construction company stitched mapping and 3d model services but, don't want to put my company or my self at risk when I do not have a surveyors license. Also, please provide some insight on real estate or inspection work if you are knowledgeable or experienced in this type of work. Thank you so much for taking the time to read me questions.
  2. very excited about learning to fly, Hoping to venture into a career change as I get older and hopefully wiser. I have flown a mavic pro and a Inspir 1 under the supervision of a 107 pilot. I loved it! looking for others who I can learn from and just enjoy the ride (from the ground of course). I am taking the 107 test Friday the 17th of Aug.2018....I feel very confident because I invested in a course from Remotepilot101.com, I have also taken multiple practice test and have performed very well, so here goes!!!

  4. Hi, We are TraceAir - we use digital copies of construction sites to automate earthmoving. We are making a "virtual engineer" that automatically compares digital copies of construction sites made with drones against designs and blueprints to help construction teams build faster & cheaper. We raised a seed round of investment and hiring great people. Here is a link to Drone/Field Operations Manager opening at our company. Please read more and apply on Angel List if interested. 6. Interesting article from one of my favorite industry publications, DroneLife, on how drones can an will revolutionize the industry and workflows. How many have considered mapping construction sites or work in construction, curious to get started. Link to article: http://dronelife.com/2017/07/19/evolution-of-an-industry-construction/

  8. Hey there community, I have recently finished up a video project for a local builder. This footage is shown to potential buyers of the new residences being built, as well as, the local town. Using the DJI Phantom 3, it is hard to create smooth transitions while sweeping (and without using built in features) however with more practice, Ill be able to dial those errors in. Criticism is appreciated! Thanks, and enjoy. https://youtu.be/j_tkI2BfwDo - Wash
