  1. Sorry - but the Tello simply isn't 1080p - more like 720. And my flying skills are still not there (needs patience and skill) But for such a simple inexpensive drone - it isn't too bad - no? Enjoy!
  2. It's one year since I owe a DJI Mavic Air! A bit of statistics: 🚀 Total flight time: 14h 46m 🚀 Total distance: 159.019m 🚀 Total flights: 116 🚀 Top Speed: 70.1 km/h
  3. Complex of this manor developed at the Medieval castle that has not preserved. Ludvig Butlar got this estate as feud in 1506. This was his family heirloom for 190 years. Next proprietors were von Brincken house. As they were not so good managers, this estate was put on auction sale in 1722. Lieutenant Fridrich Kasimyr von Brucken became the proprietor of this estate in 1723. His daughter married for the third time on Jochan Fridrich von Medem in 1767. He was managing the manor complex after her decease in 1780. In 1799 he gained the title of count. In 1880 the manor was completely rebuilt so that the architectural style is now Neo-Renaissance. This was his family heirloom till the agrarian reform in 1920. After 1920 manor was separated in smaller estates and the manor-house was used for the needs of local school.

  5. Bauska Castle is situated on a picturesque spit of land where the Mūsa and Mēmele rivers converge into the Lielupe. The Bauska Castle ensemble consists of two sections. Livonian Order Castle, built in the middle of the 15th century, is the oldest one - with only ruins remaining. A more recent part of the ensemble, built in the late 16th century, is the residence of the Kettlers, the Dukes of Courland. The oldest part of Bauska Castle is the Livonian Order Fortress, built specially for the use of firearms. It is a characteristic example of Latvia’s 15th-17th century military construction. The residence-type castle, fortified with bastions, fortification walls and earthen ramparts, is a more recent structure.
  6. Estate known as Jaunmokas was first mentioned in documents in 1544. The Neo-Gothic style structure with Art Nouveau elements was designed by architect Wilhelm Ludwig Nicholas Bockslaff (1858-1945), and built in 1901 as a hunting lodge for Mayor of Riga George Armitstead (1847-1912). George Armitstead owned the manor until 1904 when it was sold to Brinken family. In 1910 it was again sold and became property of von Ungern-Sternberg family who owned manor until 1918. During Latvian agrarian reforms in the 1920s manor was nationalized and its lands partitioned. In 1926 children sanatorium was established in the manor building. During Second world war military hospital of the Wehrmacht was located in the building. During Latvian SSR there was several offices and flats located in the building. In 1976 building was taken over by Ministry of Forestry and Forest Industry and major restoration works started and as a result in 1989 manor building was turned to a museum.

  9. Season’s Greetings! i am looking for assistance with the best app to use (other than DJI Pilot app) for autonomous flights and making maps using the ZENMUSE XT2. Until now, I have been using the Pix4D Capture and Mapper apps, but unfortunately, PIX4D does not support the XT2. So, although this seems like a simple question, I cannot get an answer so far from DJI. I feel you are using the XT2 what app are you using to capture the thermal imagery? What app are you using to process it? Thank you, Marty

  12. Hello everyone, I have recently purchased Phantom 4 Multispectral for crop analysis. But I'm really new to this multispectral camera, on how the data gets captured and how to process it to get meaningful insights. All I know is that the RGB camera data gets stored as .jpg and the multispectral data in .tiff format. And I use Dronedeploy for mapping, I'm also aware that this can be used for analysis by just uploading the multispectral images onto the application. I would be using the drone to analyse crops(Sugarcane, Corn etc.), orchard (Guava, Mango, Banana etc.). At a basic level, I would like to understand the crop stress, soil moisture level, nitrogen absorption, plant health and things like that. I would really love to explore other possibilities with the multispectral camera, for which I need your help. So my big questions are, How do I understand the data after the application has processed it? And what needs to be known, to be able to understand it? How can I take corrective measures based on the data? Is there a specific way I need to fly my P4 to obtain best results? What's the minimum overlap I need to set? Should I go with NDVI or NDRE? Or both? And why? What are the applications I should use on Dronedeploy for my purposes listed above? All and any information regarding this would be really appreciated. Advices and suggestions are most welcome. And if there is anything I need to know apart from the questions I've posted, do let me know. And all the P4 Multispectral fliers out there, your knowledge and experience is much needed to me, do kindly share it. Thank you.
  13. I’m very new to the drone world but am already seeing what a fluid situation the industry is in. With the DOI grounding all their Chinese made drones over security concerns, should I avoid buying DJI products? In favor of what?

  21. Can anyone advise me about the problem with vertical GPS values on DJI units? The horizontal values seem to be just fine. We have an Inspire 1 and an Phantom 4 Pro. We have been using them, along with DroneDeploy and Pix4D, to map wetland vegetation for wetland restoration projects in Florida. The problem arose when we started combining imagery with survey to create and deliver 3D models to our engineering colleagues. Both UAVs report accurate altitude to the RC, but the EXIF tags tell an entirely different story: A photo taken at ground level (let's say, 65' above sea level), is tagged with an elevation of -88.0 (no indication of what the units are, but .5 units represents about 100'). If we fly 100' into the air and take another picture, it now reports an altitude of -87.5 units. Per the DJI helpline folks, we've tried recalibrating the unit right before flight, and that doesn't seem to make a difference. Unfortunately, the images captured indicate that, rather than 200' over the levee (which is about 70' on the NAVD88 datum), the image thinks that it was captured from a position 20' or so below the roadbed. Flying another 100' or 200' up still doesn't get us above ground level. So Pix4D and Simactive both have trouble resolving this, and even manually editing the GCPs (at least in Pix4D) doesn't seem to fix things. DroneDeploy does a decent job of creating a model, but it's not georeferenced, and that's part of scope. Plus, 1) I'd like a more detailed model than they generally provide, and 2) my management will not support the subscription upgrade necessary to use GCPs, especially since we already purchased a license of Pix4DMapper. Dishing out $20K for an RTK unit is not on-budget for a few more years, so let's just assume that's not a solution. Besides, we don't need centimeter accuracy for the flight, just for the solution after the GCPs are incorporated. Just being within a few meters of reality (as advertised) during flight would be fine. We could probably write a python script to write pressure altitude values to the GPS field, but that seems like kind of a sloppy workaround. Any other ideas? Does anyone have a buddy at DJI who might fix this? Kindest regards, - Bill William E.
