  1. Hi all,Just bought a drone? Already a professional? A drone enthusiast? Regardless, your help is needed!I am looking for drone/RPAS/UAV pilots and enthusiasts to be a part of research I am undertaking into drone flying practices in the UK.What are the aims of the project? I’m exploring what kind of airspace is produced by the interactions between regulation on the one hand and the actual experience of drone flying on the other. What do we know about the invisible politics of airspace? How important is the drone user in shaping their own flying experience? Don’t worry about answering that of course… that’s my job!How could you contribute?I’m looking for two types of contributions, both of which would be completely anonymous in the final research: Flight diary – regardless of how long you’ve been flying drones, I’m looking for pilots (beginner, hobbyist, professional, whatever!) to record a diary of the experience of just a few drone flights over the next 2 months - I'd give plenty of pointers as to the kind of things to talk about, and time commitment is all up to you. This might then be followed up by an interview if you’d be willing. Interview – if you work in the industry, this would be a short (informal) interview discussing your own drone flying habits and interests, along with the wider sentiment of the industry/your company. I am based in London, though you would not be expected to travel – please do get in contact wherever you are as I would love to hear from you.If you are interested or would like further information, please get in contact with me via PM or by email – droneflightresearch@gmail.comThank you for your time!HarryGeography undergraduate student at Oxford with a keen interest in the aviation industry, currently undertaking research for my dissertation.
  2. Hello everyone. I am just starting lean how flying quadcopter drone as a hobby. As my company works in thermoimage business, maybe we can add this kind of service using drones in the future. Ps. I am also bulding few DIY freestyle drones. Best Waldir
  3. I have always been interested in remote controlled flying, but, did not get into it until now. I am new to flying. For Christmas, my daughter bought a DJI Spark for me. I am interested in learning to fly the right way, safety and within the rules. I live close to the PVD Airport in Warwick, RI. Any fellow or sister fliers in the areas feel free to contact me. My other interest is sail boat racing. Just club racing on Narragansett Bay. My current goal is to master the DJI Spark so I can take video and photos for this summer's club races for fun (not commercially). The biggest challenge will be landing on a boat and getting over my fears of flying over water and having an equipment failure. :-( Looking forward to learning more.
  4. Hello there! I recently bought a DJI Mavic Air after I absolutely fell in love with flying several "toy" drones. They were so much fun and I saw just how much potential they held in terms of content creation (video, photography). I finally pulled the trigger and bought the Air Fly More Combo and absolutely love it! Unfortunately, I now realize that, to get the most out of its 4k capabilites, I now need a better PC (the wife disagrees). The laptop and older "Home office" PC just don't cut it when it comes to 4k video editing. At the moment, it is purely for fun and to improve my skills. Eventually I would love to attempt some real estate video/photography work for some extra income. It would be great for it to eventually become something more full time or even lead to a career/location change as well! My area doesn't seem to have much of a drone culture or industry (a little in ag) so any advice would be greatly appreciated! -Marty

Hello everyone! I'm just a hobbyist that may be interested in getting licensed commercially, in order to get into Real Estate marketing or inspecting. My background is in Property Insurance claims and specifically Catastrophe Claims during the last 14 years or so of my career. So, I think there may be possibilities there also. I just like flying and taking videos for fun right now. I've had a Phantom for about 3 years, so my equipment is "antique" at this point in relation to the new technology out there. But, with my Phantom and GoPro, I can do anything I'm interested in doing. I look forward to reading posts from other pilots and learning what they do.
