  1. Hello! I’m Paul and I’ve been a commercial pilot for nearly 20 years. I got into drone flying about 5 years ago for recreational videos. Recently, I started flying drones for a real estate side hustle and need to get closer to airports. Do I need a 107 license to unlock my drone, or can I submit to unlock with my pilots license. I fly a DJI Mavic Air and a Mavic Air2. I also have a GOPRO Karma. thank you! Paul
  2. Hello there! I have been taking the UAV Coach course for several months now, just finished the core material and have been looking at the drone workspace. I was wondering about Drone Base, it sounds like a cool company to do freelance like work to start out. Unfortunately, as I do not yet have my Part 107 cert just yet; Drone Base has not answered my request for info of where most of their clients' work is located in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Would anyone be able to shed some light on this? I would be most grateful! Happy Flying!
  3. Greetings, I'm a retired chef, cookbook author and publisher; also a new member and new to drones. I have a DJI Mavic Air 2 and and am sitting for my Part 107 exam Monday.
  4. Just introdfucing myself as a new memberwho may be slightly different from the rest. My interest in drones has been sparked by my disability. I am trying to learn to fly them so I can take my camera where I cannot go myself (which is most places nowadays) allowing me to continue my hobby and old profession to some extent. I have started to learn using simulators on my Mac and iPad, as well as using a real life one, the Syma X5C . Yes I do have a long way to go, especially as I want to pass the CAA PFAW and then I feel I can teach other disabled people to use the drones to give them more freedom. Living on the borders of the Lake District national park means that it is often wet, and frequently windy, but I try and fly my toy inside when I can just to get used to the various aspects of using one. Any advice, help or just chat would be welcome especially from other disabled flyers. Mike
  5. Hello people, i just passed my 107 and I am waiting to receive my license number but while I wait I am trying to get my company off the ground. I have a LOT to learn, like reducing error in drone deploy/autocad transfer basically field to finish work and having it reliable for customers. Anyhow I would seriously appreciate any advice or help with any of the issues listed above. Thanks! Ray
