Hello everyone, I'm excited to be joining the community. I'm both new to forums and new to drones. I am not; however, new to aviation. I've got a degree in Aeronautics and worked as an A&P mechanic before I started flight instructing. I continued on that career path for a few years before I lost my medical certificate. Currently, I'm in a long and complicated paperwork battle with the FAA to get my medical reinstated... With all that being said, I'm considering a slight career change from manned aircraft to UAS. Not sure exactly what direction I want to go with UAS, but I love flying and I love aviation. I've got my 107 certificate but no drone. Any advice for a new drone pilot on where to go from here? Thanks! I'm excited to learn!
Hey everyone. My name is John. I have been flying a Typhoon G for about a year but am currently studying for my FAA exam and looking to use a Phantom in the future to start a side business doing some aerial photography and videos. I have done some fun/hobby video work over the past several years with GoPros, and through that hobby I met a wonderful young lady who was doing photography at an event I was filming. Long story short, we hit it off and have been dating for about 1.5 years, feel that God wants us to stay together forever, and she will be teaching me the ins and outs of photography soon. She has just started her own small photography business after years of practice of going to a specialized photography school, so my drone certification and business will be another service she can offer through me. So, I thought I would join this awesome community to get some tips and make some friends. Blue skies and safe flying! John

Hello everyone! I am a 28 year old from Raleigh, NC and I own a small film business(mostly music, promotional, skateboarding, and corporate videos so far). I am planning on buying a drone in less than 2 weeks. My budget allows me two choices: the DJI Phantom 2 w/ Zennmuse H4-3D gimbal or the Yuneec Typhoon G, as I own a Go Pro Hero 4 Black. After weeks of grueling research, I believe I've decided on the Yuneec Typhoon G, solely because you can video stream live and see what your recording in flight, unlike the Phantom 2. I'm extremely excited to begin learning how to use and properly film with the drone, but does anybody have any input on the Typhoon G vs the Phantom 2 w/ H4-3D gimbal? Any advice would help. Thanks!! -David Timmons
