  1. We have ongoing Cell Tower Inspection projects and are actively onboarding independent contractor pilot candidates. The jobs locations vary and could be anywhere in the CONUS. The ideal candidate is able to travel and be on a project for 3 – 4 weeks at a time. Some of the requirements include: - FAA Part 107 Certified - Insured - Attention to detail - Able to think outside of the box and problem solve on the go - Must have dependable transportation. Many of our sites are in rural locations, a vehicle with all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive is a plus. - Acceptable drones o Phantom 4 Pro o Inspire 2 - Backup drone highly recommended - Must have mobile charging capabilities (inverter) with minimum of 8 batteries or 8 sets of batteries for drones that require 2. Charger must be able to charge multiple batteries simultaneously.(We can offer suggestions) - Able to follow a checklist - Laptop for reviewing and uploading projects from the field - High Capacity Storage device for holding project data until final acceptance. - Ability to upload data from the field is helpful. (we can offer suggestions on best options) - Training will be provided and fee is required to attend. Work is available for pilots that meet the requirements and successfully complete training.   2. Hello & Greetings from “L.A.”....If you flew helicopters in the Army, you know where I’m @! My background: I’m 52 and been around Aviation that long....flew Professionally for 34 years,ATP, 3 type ratings (Citation Excel/Latitude....But Mostly I’m a Hawker Pilot @ Heart!) Spent 20 + years every 6 months @ FlightSafety with no pink slips...Got total Road Burnout and “Retired”.....thought I had a pretty successful Aviation Career......AND THEN I BOUGHT A DRONE! (Actually 5 to date)....I can fly it with the sticks somewhat descent....trying to figure out the automation (TapFly) ...first time trying to use it I had a “FlyAway”😩....It ended up in some guys back yard hovering....he grabbed it,pulled the battery, called the police as I did and an hour later it was home!…In 15,000 flight hours that was the worst feeling....I Got LUCKY....And as I replayed the chain of events there was So many “Got Ya’s”....The Holes lined up and the Event Occurred. As hard as I tried to treat it with the same respect as anything else I fly, The preflight is not as it should be and flying it (Oh it’s a Phantom 4) was stressful,especially trying to use the IPAD!… My wife asked me with all seriousness “Isn’t there like a FlightSafety for Drones you could go thru”....SHE NAILED IT!…Every Aircraft that I have flown since 1993 I have been thru Formal Training On. The Moral of this Story....GET SOME DUAL .....Utube is Great, but one on one is Golden! And that is what I am hoping that I found here... I will be scheduling with Mobile and/Or Cape Coral real soon!
  3. Recently, I've been inspired to relaunch my website ( as a remote pilot resource hub. I'm going to curate online drone training content and organize it into free courses as well as provide guides, reviews, and comparisons of formal training for drone-based businesses. The initial focus is going to be on training and education, but I'm hoping to expand into other areas like resources for running a small drone business.I'd consider the site in a "soft launch" phase right now while I sort out some of the SEO, formatting, and look and feel of things. I'm open to constructive criticism if you take the time to check it out. What kinds of articles or resources would you like to see at Drone Outlook?   4. Hi all i am very new to the drone world and would really appreciate some insight in how i can begin my new drone business. i understand the repl and reoc requirements. My question is can an agras mg communicate with a phantom 4 drone with a usb or wirelessly? or is it required to plug into a computer to share info. as i said i am very new to this and any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
  5. For aerially inspecting wind turbines and other structures, drone pilots come into action. During our mission in Texas, drone pilot Andrew Haskins from National Drone Pros learned how to operate the Sterblue App — in one day. Andrew is also part of the DroneBase network. As our company is growing, our pilot network needs to grow as well. Indeed, we need to rely on experienced drone pilots distributed all over the world in order to ensure fast and high-quality inspection processes. But how does the training for the Sterblue App look like? And who can fly a drone for Sterblue? Get some insights from our training with Andrew who now operates for Sterblue in the US. How does the training look like? Being trained to the Sterblue App on field can seamlessly be done in one day! The App allows to fly automatically around the three blades and four faces of a wind turbine. The production downtime is then optimized with a highly standardized data collection phase. Our training process is carried out in three steps: Pilot qualification interview (30 minutes) Online training (45 minutes) Onsite training (1 day) Before the actual training, we introduce ourselves in a 30 minute interview and check about our past experiences as well as future expectations. This is followed by an online training session, consisting of videos, exercises and tests. Here, the learner can gain insights into the Sterblue solution in an interactive way. The online training can be completed in 45 minutes. After passing the first two steps, we start the actual onsite training. For learning how to inspect wind turbines, Andrew joined our experienced Sterblue drone pilot on field in Texas. We believe that involving the pilot in a real mission provides the best learning experience. On the first day of operation, we met at the wind farm in Texas for a safety walk, before heading out to the first turbine. While training pilots to our App, we take as much time as needed in inspecting the first structures. This way, we can ensure that the pilot is fully comfortable and understands each point of the mission and the App. While inspecting the first turbine for about three hours, Andrew was in control of the drone the entire time with the supervision of our Sterblue instructor. Sterblue App: details of a wind turbine from the Sterblue mission in Texas During the following two days, he kept on inspecting wind turbines guided by a Sterblue instructor. This way, he increased his productivity with the Sterblue solution while ensuring good quality inspections. At the end of his training, Andrew inspected ten wind turbines in one day and a half. On his next project for Sterblue at the end of July, Andrew will inspect 29 wind turbines in less than one week. The perspectives of working with us are promising: the US wind market is big and there is a constant need for inspecting and maintaining wind turbines. How to become a Sterblue drone pilot? In order to create good conditions for the inspection process, you need to meet requirements in terms of Experience Location Equipment License At Sterblue, we look for professional drone operators being experienced from working in the industry. To follow on customer projects all over the world, our drone operators are distributed globally. This is to ensure that each drone inspector can act locally, for long and frequent travels to be avoided. For some upcoming projects, we are especially looking for drone operators in the US. Operating for Sterblue, you need to have specific equipment: Our Sterblue App and 3d automatic navigation software is compatible with the whole DJI product line. Preferably, we are using the DJI Matrice 200 series. Also, you need to be a licensed drone pilot in the country of your operation.   6. Good advice on practice. Training flights are FUN! Each maneuver is scalable. Circularizing your flight, especially in tight regimes, is the toughest! Basic maneuvers to practice to proficiency: Square flight pattern with aircraft heading away at all times Square flight pattern with aircraft facing toward at all times Square flight pattern with aircraft pointing into the square at all times Circle flight pattern around the square with the camera continuously pointing at the center at all times

  8. Hi, I'm a new drone enthusiast and would like suggestions on where to start. On vacation I ran into a guy flying his drone and had such a great chat with him I thought I'd like to do that too. He talked about all the business opportunities and what fun he had doing it I just had to learn more. I would very much appreciate any and all suggestions on where to start, licensing, training and anything else you all could share about learning about drones and career opportunities. I'm in los Angeles so if any locals are willing to take on an apprentice I'm open!

Hi all, I am planning out some improvements and updates to the Post-Production course and part of that is a consideration for making some new screencast videos on either new topics or going more in depth on a topic already covered. So, wondering what everyone thinks should be included and hoping at least a few of you have some time to share more in-depth thoughts over email or a phone call.   10. Hello! Does anyone have any experience with Drone Simulators? I'd like to purchase one to improve my flight skills without possibly sacrificing one of my actual sUAS babies! I've looked into Zephyr and RealFlight. Anyone love either of those or have a different recommendation? Just passed Part 107 with a 93% so its time to log some hours and hit the ground running! We're opening up enrollment to our newest online training course, Aerial Post-Production 101, tomorrow morning: @Christian Tucci, our instructor, and all around post-production guru / nice dude, will be working 1:1 with students to develop demo reels and to teach concepts like assembling rough cuts, transitions, coloring, music, and post-processing workflows. Christian reminded me this morning that video editors can charge $250+ / hour for post-processing $199, I feel really good about the value students will be getting in this course. Almost 6 hours of video content! Personalized instruction and 1:1 support from Christian!   12. Hello all, I'm currently working with VA Vocational Rehab to get some UAS training and certification, but I don't want to be limited to quadcopters and photography. What would you recommend for a civilian to train in fixed wing drones with a focus towards law enforcement? I am pushing for them to send me to UND Fargo but I would like to know if there are other options. Thanks in Advance!

Do you need drone training and certification in order to market yourself as a drone photographer (video & stills)so you can sell your services for private commissions?
