  1. Hello! I am new to drones & am currently in the process of completing training (via Drone Pilot Ground School) to get my part 107 license. I will be using the drone commercially to do testing for the company I work for. Very excited to complete the training, & actually get started flying drones!
  2. My name is Shawn Ebey, I am in the investigative stage of joining the Aerial Drone industry. I am a 43 year Army retiree looking for a major career change. Interested in the best way to get started. Like is formal training worth the time, and money, and if so who has the best program and what is a reasonable cost? Secondly, in my area the Petro/Chemical industry is the largest part of our economy, We also have a small port open to international commerce. I am told that the chemical plants use drones for site/tower/and container inspections, what is the best way to get training or experience is closed space inspections. All in all, I'm a new person to the industry just looking to get started and make myself the most qualified rookie possible. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
  3. I am a new member to UAVCoach and just passed the 107 licensing exam. I look forward to learning and making positive contributions to the group.
  4. Hello All, I have been a private pilot for several years, and recently became interested in UAV. Specifically looking at life after corporate, and creating a UAV services company.
  5. My wife bought a Phantom 4 for me when they came out, love flying it. As close to the real thing as you can get. Had a wild hair that I could do some kind of agribusiness with vineyards since that's what we do. Was very disappointed with the rules last spring regarding what you needed to have to go commercial. We are very excited with the new rules and are looking forward to doing something commercial in both real estate and vineyard inspections. Anyone else flying vineyards, I would love to talk to you.
  6. Hello, everyone, I have caught the drone bug and can't wait to learn more about this exciting industry! I look forward to learning from those who have come before me.
  7. I'm Douglas from Arlington, TX. And just wanted to say hi, and introduce myself. I'm a pro photographer, 6yrs. Although I have been a photographer for over 20yrs. I specializie in portraiture, but I do have an infinity for landscapes and even architecture as that is where I began my photographic journey. My full time day gig is in medical, which sees me traveling quite a bit. I picked up my first UAS at the beginning of the year, Syma X5. Graduated to the Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K, used that for a week and knew it wasn't for me. Upgraded to the Phantom 3 Pro. And now I fly the Inspire 1, which I absolutely love. Certainly looking to network, so if you live in DFW metroplex and want to fly sometime, I'm game. Best, Doug
