  1. Hi UAV Coach members, Allow me to introduce myself, and I’m Oliver McClintock. I am more of a drone freak just like you guys and take the hobby seriously. What made me create an account in this forum is because of the amount of contribution UAV Coach is doing for the drone community. Despite being a drone expert myself (this is not to boast myself, but if you want to know how my love for drone started then read this), I always like to listen to what other professionals has to say. It is right with CEO & Founder, Alan Perlman and his team including his son dubbed “Future Drone Pilot” Miles Perlman (just joking 😀). Alan, I have been reading most of your articles lately, and I must appreciate the depth of your writing. I have enjoyed your insights and would request permission to share your works on my official social channels. Not to mention, your website is much better & professional after switching to a new theme. I will actively involve in discussions of this forum and maybe try to serve useful insights or help out fellow droners with my expertise. Hope you keep this community up and running and probably we can hop on a Skype text chat if you have free time. Best Regards, Oliver McClintock
  2. Hi, my name is Eileen. I'm working on my undergraduate thesis this upcoming year, which is about hobbyist drones in the United States although commercial use is also of use. Is it appropriate to forum members if they would be willing to be interviewed for my thesis? I have more information about who I am and what I'm researching but I didn't want to post it if it would violate the rules. Thanks for the help!
  3. Hello everyone, Excited to join this community of Drone Pilots and prospective pilots like myself. I am passionate about responsible and legal drone use for commercial use and also for personal enjoyment. I am currently studying for Part 107 exam with the ultimate goal of using my commercial license to establish a successful and respectable business. I'll be monitoring this forum for tips, advice, ideas, etc., and sometimes asking questions -- maybe too many at times. I hope to become a valuable contributor. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Ray Kaforey
  4. Hello everyone, my name is Harvey and I am a huge drone enthusiast. If you share my passion or you're just considering buying a drone, then I dare say, we're future friends . I have my own drone reviews website you can find updates on recent activity in the drone market and the models offered for sale on various online shopping sites. I am glad to be on board here and look forward to a great experience shared with all members!
  5. Hi everyone! Sharing results from a recent study we conducted on U.S. drone regulations. I know a lot of you took part, and I wanted to personally thank you for your engagement. I was blown away with how many responses we got and think the insights from the survey are pretty telling of where we're at right now. Looking forward to your comments:
  6. Hello to all of you UAV fans -- my name is Ryan. Fortunately for me, Alan and UAV Coach have decided to let me join in on the fun here with the UAV Coach social media accounts. Over the upcoming weeks, I'm going to be sharing articles, videos and content related to UAVs and drones over on the Facebook page. I know we've got a wide variety of levels when it comes to pilots on here from amateurs to veterans, so I'm looking forward to having some discussions with you about the way the industry is moving and checking out some sweet tech in the process. So, if you're not already a fan of the page, please, head on over and give it a like so that you can keep up with my antics. I've got some fun things planned for the upcoming months and I hope you'll join me in them. I'm pretty available -- just send me a message if you ever have a question or need my help! Thanks, Ryan
  7. Hello everyone. I'm a GIS Analyst currently working for an environmental consulting firm but am looking to start a new venture with a friend here in southeast Ohio. Specific uses/applications are still in their infancy but ultimately we would like to leverage drones to capture imagery and use that data to model the environment and provide custom spatial products to future clients. As someone that's been working with spatial data for a while now, the potential of drones in this industry is incredible. Alan, I became familiar with your site after watching the Drones Flying Free webinar a few weeks ago. Thanks for putting together such a great resource, much appreciated! I am hoping to get some guidance from the you and/or the community on a few start-up topics, specifically related to the 333 exemption process. I'm sure some of these questions will be discussed and answered in the upcoming course you're offering on starting a drone business but, in the meantime, if anyone can provide their thoughts, experiences, etc on these two items, it will help me wrap my head around the process a little. It's my understanding that the 333 exemption can be applied to an individual or a company. If the company is not incorporated yet, is this something that an individual can apply for and then transfer to a company? Or would the best method be to incorporate first, then apply for the exemption as the company? On a similar note, if the specific applications and platforms are still unknown (or currently a list of potentials), what's the proper way to approach that in the exemption? Figure out those details first, or make a blanket list of possible applications/platforms that will be pursued/used? To give a little more background, we currently have one unregistered fixed wing plane outfitted with an autopilot system and a Canon, it's a DIY work-in-progress. Glad to be here!
  8. Hello, my name is Jeff and I live near the ocean in Maine. My passion hobby is photography. I wanted to explore, capture, and share images of the amazing New England landscape from a perspective that most people haven't seen, so a year ago I purchased the Yuneek Q500+ and started Agile Aerial (facebook) to share my adventures. I would love to network with drone enthusiasts in this area.
