  1. Below I am submitting the final project required for the graduation of Ariel Post Production 101. I used iMovie to edit this video. However I am purchasing Final Cut Pro in the very near future. A lot of the editing techniques and controls are similar to Final Cut Pro. 1. the resolution I used for this video was 1080 P at 60 frames per second. I showcase this video on UAc Coach, Vinmeo, Facebook, and Instagram. 2. I tried to use music that showed the dynamic footage and the awesomeness of the wind turbine. 3. I tried to showcase the dynamic size and beauty of the wind turbine I. 4. The story is a simple one. I'm trying to illustrate and advertise the ability to do an aerial visual inspection of the wind turbine. The clarity of the camera and the dexterity of the footage. 5. Three important lessons learned in editing this video, 1. Important to find music and the duration to correspond with the time you want to display the video. 2. I wished I captured a higher view encapsulating all the wind mills in the entire area. Looking back should have been more. 3. One of the important things I learned from the class and editing this video were how to use transitions effectively utilizing the beat of the music. This class was a great help to me in learning the process of editing video. I highly recommend it. I'm also extremely interested in the views and advice I can get from others who have viewed this video. Good or bad I'm looking forward to knowing what I can improve on.
  2. Caught between a rock and a hard place. Am beginning the editing process for my first video with music. I have some of the video footage from my Mavic Pro, have the idea for the story, and know what music I would like to use. BUT I cannot find a source for the music that does not cost and arm and a leg. The song is Neil Diamond's "Jonathan Livingston Seagull," and I prefer instrumental but could use the version sung by him. I am planning to share the finished product with the forum and put it on YouTube. I have searched Greenlight Music who said the fees begin at $25K, could not find it on BMI or ASCAP, or on resources suggested by Christian: http://freeplaymusic.com/ http://www.premiumbeat.com/ https://vimeo.com/musicstore http://www.eliasmusiclibrary.com/ http://freemusicarchive.org/curator/Video/ Should I forget using this particular music and go to something more generic on one of the above sources, or does anyone have a suggestion how I might get the use of the music I want? Thanks at least $25K worth.
  3. Hey all, Here is my 1st try at video editing. I am using my DJI Phantom 3 Professional and Adobe Premier Pro CC. My budget did not allow me to get a MacBook and Final Cut Pro, but I am pretty happy with the Adobe program so far. I still have a ton to learn though and I eventually need to figure out how to add music to make my videos better. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris
  4. Got a flew flights in on my new DJI p3a. Impressed with the 2.7k video quality and the stability/smoothness of the gimbal. Now I'm looking for good editing s/w. No need for hollywood production quality, but not looking for free stuff with very limited options either. I have some experience from the "old days" editing my camcorder vids. Hoping to get recommendations for moderately priced s//w that can be applied to at least 2 pc's Thanks in advance
