  1. Hi there! I have a friend with two kids who are looking to learn more about drones. They live in Spokane, Washington and would love to sync up with a local drone pilot who can provide a beginner lesson. Thanks!
  2. I recently ventured out to take advantage of a rare break in the winter storms to do some sunset flying near Mt. St. Helens, and I managed to capture some awesome footage!I continue to be impressed by how the Mavic 2 can handle cold temperatures with noticeable loss of battery life. I was a little worried about flying through the clouds and mist, but I'm learning that the Mavic handles such conditions very well.In addition to the video, I've posted a bunch of photos on my blog: https://illuminationsfromtheattic.blogspot.com/2018/12/winter-wonderland-in-cascade-mountains.html
  3. Hello, I'm a photographer, videographer, and writer living in the shadow of Mt. St. Helens. 2018 was the year I got my first drone (the DJI Spark - I recently upgraded to the Mavic 2 Zoom), and over the course of the year I have slowly grown in confidence and ability. I feel that being able to capture aerial footage has opened up a new dimension to my creative work, and that it has led to the creation of some of my finest photos and videos. I publish my videos on a weekly basis on my Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCA7wA2N0bc80_bV8WoXrwmQ And I publish my photos and writing on a variety of topics (as well as share my videos) on my blog: https://illuminationsfromtheattic.blogspot.com/ I also have an instagram account where I often publish drone photos: https://www.instagram.com/illuminationsfromtheattic/ By way of further introduction I'll leave you with one of my best aerial videos so far - I'm looking forward to participating in this community!
  4. Hi everyone my name is Chris and I'm a 107 certified uav pilot. I've recently opened an llc and have began my journey into operating and growing a business focused on every aspect of quadcopters! Currently I'm shooting videos for car dealerships and real estate. I love flying my quadcopters and want to venture into more meaningful work with my drones. Agriculture has been in my sites for awhile now. I feel I can have a huge impact in the field (pun intended) and want to feel my business can impact the globe in vast ways. If anyone here is working directly with farmers and crop inspectors/pesticide sprayers/crop management I would love some direction and insight. Thanks!
  5. I am looking at purchasing the 4 Pro + plus but somewhat concerned reading some of the comments on the forum about the production stoppage of the phantom 4's ( not the plus ) I still feel this will be a great drone for me, and after reading some of the post feel DGI will continue to support the plus. Would it be better if I wait and see what they come up with Or look at others Could you please advise me on my this? thanks for any advice
  6. My wife and I are real estate brokers, and have been wanting to add aerial photos to our marketing toolkit. And we figure we may be able to get some side income taking pictures and videos for other realtors. We passed our exams this afternoon thanks to the great curriculum Alan put together, and our equipment starts arriving tomorrow! We're looking forward to learning to fly, and building a business out of it!
  7. Hey All - Newbie here. Would love to network with some knowledgeable drone pilots in the Seattle area.
  8. High guys, I'm a Carpenter out of Olympia, Washington State. I pretty much just saw a guy on YouTube making his own drones.. And my buddy and I thought that looked pretty cool.. So a week later we went in together and bought a 3d printer that came in a about a hundred pieces. So we got the thing built all this in about 2 weeks from watching the YouTube videos.. So I guess you can say we kinda jumped into this head first. My overall dream/goal, is I loved the drone racing videos I've seen, and I think without a doubt I wanna get into fpv flying. I want a very fast drone with the longest range possible. And seeing how I spent all my money at the moment on a printer.. I wanna start out cheap.. So I figured I'd buy a good 8 channel transmitter.. Since perhaps that's less upgradable.. And then a small racing drone at first that perhaps I can upgrade later. Again, I'm totally new at this, but I feel confident even with not ever doing any of this before.. I have a pretty good ability to pick stuff up fast. I guess I mostly just wanted to introduce myself to the community, and also ask your guys opinions on where to start, what transmitter and what drone would probably be best for me. (note: I have a printer, so I'd like to build as many of my own parts and stuff as possible) and also if there are any clubs on this forum in Washington State, I'd love to join and even go to some meets. Thanks guys for reading, and welcoming me to this new exciting hobby! Look forward to hearing from ya!
