Phantom 3 FPV

Recommended Posts

Anyone else out there use their Phantom 3 Pro for FPV? I picked up the optional HDMI output module a few months back to use with my Fat Shark HD 2 goggles. Awesome is all I can say. Worlds better than analog 5.8ghz gear. Can't beat the range either.

Do you find it easier or harder to fly?

It's significantly different. I don't like not having situational awareness, but the feeling of cockpit-like flying is a phenomenal experience. It was also pretty humbling too. FPV flying, at least the kind of racing people are doing these days, is TOUGH NUGGETS.

Flying a multi rotor via FPV is not any harder, but like Alan says situational awareness is somewhat reduced. I've clipped trees that way and had a few minor crashes, but nothing major. It was always at my local AMA site where flying FPV is legal. But if you fly above the trees it's pretty much a non issue. On a related note I find flying fixed wing via FPV is much easier and way more fun. I'll take my Sport Cub S through the same indoor course as the nano quads. It's wicked fun.

Very cool, I watched an arena race showcasing  FPV drone racing this morning an that looked intense! I think I will stick to VLOS for now, but most likely will play with FPV in the future

Is there a latency issue with the FPV and the Phantom 3 Pro?    That's the only thing I worry about.

Not that I'm aware of. Have you been experiencing any issues?
