Quadcopter Descent

Greetings,

Do quadcopters have capability to descend at fixed flight path angle instead of vertical descent (VTOL)?

Also, is there any advantage in terms of battery usage for climbing/descending quadcopter at non vertical angles VS. vertical climb/descent?

Thanks,

Priyank

I usually maintain a constant angle of decent like you would with any manned rotorcraft in order to avoid vortex ring state also known as settling with power. Unless there is a strong headwind, in which case entering into a vortex ring state is not likely.
