This is a bit different than other types of stock footage libraries. As far as I can tell they provide a subscription service where their customer can download footage for the subscription price, they don’t appear to pay per clip. StoryBlocks keeps 100% of the subscriptions and the user must be a member to see the catalog.  The photographer only makes money if the user “purchased” a clip.  

So the question is why would a user purchase a clip if they have access to it as part of the subscription?  If your not a subscriber the user doesn’t have access to clips for sale? 

I’m doing ok on Pond5 but they keep a percentage, there’s a lot of crap footage/pictures on there and it’s tedious uploading and key wording content. It would be great to find quality alternatives but I don’t understand how this model works. 

Curious if others are using or selling content on this site and how thy like it.
