My Favorite Drone Podcasts

Recommended Posts

Overall my favorite drone podcast is Randy Goers "The Drone Radio show". Here is his latest episode, an interview with the founders of Skytango.

A lot of drone podcasts start out with weekly episodes but then fall off and there is nothing for weeks but Randy not only produces a podcast on a weekly basis but interviews guests involved with a wide variety of aspects of the drone industry. This is one guest that introduced me to UAVcoach back in 2015 and started me posting to this forum when it came online in January of 2016.

I must contribute to this

I also listen to Ian Smith's Commercial Drones FM but I've noticed the episodes are now few and far between. He must have a job (Drone Deploy) or something keeping him busy

Another podcast that I like is the UAVDigest. These guys consistently produce a weekly podcast and although they don't often have guest its a good source of the drone news of the week.

I am also a fan of "Drone Stuff this week" hosted by sUASnews founder Gary Mortimer. This is a hangout which can be attended live on youtube at 21:00 GMT every Tuesday or just watch the recorded version. I always have trouble finding the link to the latest episode so just google it.

and last but by no means least as a DIYer I am a big fan of flitetest and its podcasts.

If you also have some favorite drone podcasts please let me know.

Thanks so much for the mention and for your continuing listening to the show.  If you have a topic, idea or specific question that I can explore on a future show, let me know.

Check with @Alan Perlman first if this ok but now that you are a member of this forum maybe rather than me occasionally posting links to your podcast you could start a new thread titled "The Drone Radio Show Podcast" in the "News and Events" category and post a link each week to the latest episode.. This way new member of this forum will be informed about your podcast.

I had to post this last one though. I think a lot of people in this forum will be interested in listening to Nicole's experience with successfully adding drones to her existing photography business

Just came across a new drone podcast from one of the above podcasts that I've been following. Chris Anderson (no, not the 3DR CEO) was recently interviewed by the guys at UAV Digest and so I've added his podcast to my list. He interviews drone pilots from around the world.

Maybe he would like to interview pilots from this community.

That is a good idea!

Why not? There certainly seems to be some highly qualified pilots in this forum! Maybe even someone with the right contacts to make it happen!

Having now listened to several episodes I believe that Chris selects his guests from the quality of the photos and number of followers they have on Instagram.

Ian Smith interviews Parrot-Sensefly on their recent new product release announcements.

I have high hopes that the Anafi Work will become the go-to public safety drone for accident and crime scene mapping.  The fact that it comes with a free year of Pix4D is extremely attractive.
