Regular BVLOS Operations Begin for Xcel Energy

Recommended Posts

Last week Xcel Energy made a historic BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone flight, marking a significant step forward in bringing BVLOS operations to the entire drone industry.

In fact, in some ways 2018 could be called the year of BVLOS—so far this year the FAA has issued 10 BVLOS (or Part 107.31) waivers, which almost doubles the total count of 22.

Read our article on Xcel Energy's BVLOS flights here, and chime in on this thread to share your thoughts. Are you excited about this development? What implications do you think it has for the future of the drone industry, and other commercial sectors where drones are used?
