FAA Approves Nine New LAANC Service Providers

Recommended Posts

Hi drone pilots,

If you'd like to learn more about how the nine new LAANC service suppliers were chosen, check out our most recent article on UAV Coach: "How the FAA Chose Nine New LAANC Service Suppliers."

The nine new suppliers are Aeronyde, Airbus, AiRXOS, Altitude Angel, Converge, DJI, KittyHawk, UASidekick and Unifly. Each went through a five-month onboarding process. This includes a one-month application period, one-month review period, one month of technical interviews, and two months of formal onboarding for entities that make it through each prior step.

It's also believed that the fully implemented LAANC service is the first step to implementing a UTM. What do you think some of the next steps will be before we have a fully managed national airspace for UAS?
