Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) mapping

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any experience with using a Hyperspectral or Multispectral camera with a P4P (or other UAV) for mapping SAVs? How about lake/freshwater plants in general for use by a biologist to identify species and map locations?

Or just ideas or notes in general?

We flew quite a few hyperspectral missions for a DoD contractor about a year and a half ago, it was big, about six pounds, and very expensive.   They were very excited with the data they could collect but I don’t know the outcome.

The impression that I got from a few conversations with them is that at the time this type of sensor was probably cost prohibitive for most applications.
