Landscaping Services - Determining Measurements from Aerial Imaging

Recommended Posts

Hello,

This is my first time posting here - so I'm open to any advice!

I've been doing part time drone work for a landscaping service in my area.

The owner of the company usually has to send out an employee to measure mulch beds, tree islands, etc. that are on site.

I have been taking still images and video for him, but need to know if there is anyway to quantify measurements from the drone itself (length x width).

Any software recommendation would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Check out the tools in Drone Deploy.  You will have to subscribe to get some of the measurement tools.  I think I just read an article where they have an object counter (like number of trees).

Also.. precisionmapper.com (free) is a good mapping platform...it will build an orthmosaic that you can import into Google Earth and get area...it also can do volumes of piles as well....I capture images w the free  Precisionflight.   Dronemapper rapid is another good Ortho mapper...
