Zipline Launches World’s Largest Medical Drone Delivery Network in Ghana, Will Service 12 Million People

Recommended Posts

Zipline just announced the launch of the largest medical drone delivery network in the world.

The deliveries will take place in Ghana, where 148 different vaccines, blood products, and life-saving medications will now be available on-demand via drone delivery. Read today's article to learn more about the delivery network.

In recent months we’ve seen the FAA issue several significant approvals for drone deliveries in the U.S., all related to companies involved in the UAS IPP (UAS Integration Pilot Program), a federal program created to test different types of drone operations prohibited by the FAA’s Part 107 rules. Zipline is also a UAS IPP partner, and we wouldn't be surprised to see them start making drone deliveries here in the U.S. before too long.

Are you excited about the launch of Zipline's network in Ghana? Chime in here to share your thoughts.

Dear Zacc.

This is great news, but what will happen, if the drones will fly in a more congested air zone?  I mean, when the collision risk is higher ex. in the US?

Our firm had developed a CWS  (Collision Warning System). This is a small sized, active unit, which can drive the drone automatically to escape from a collision situation - supposed the others have the same unit on board.

This works on light airplanes too, in this case, a  dia 50 mm display and an optional ADS-B receiver is being attached to the base unit. On the colored display, the pilot may see the surrender planes. A big red arrow shows the required action for the pilot in a collision situation.  With its active output, easy to use it at autopilot-equipped plans too.

Pls. ask for more info, if You are interested.
