In a new report AUVSI (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International) takes a close look at all the Part 107 waivers that have been issued by the FAA.

The report contains data on the types of waivers the FAA granted, the types of entities receiving these waivers, and the frequency with which it has granted them.

It also has a rallying cry for the need to move beyond waivers and implement new regulations to allow for many of the types of operations currently prohibited by the Part 107 rules.

Read today's article for our highlights from the AUVSI report, as well as some speculation on the different regulatory paths that might get us to new rules for operations like flying over people and BVLOS.
